The hot chocolate is so so and they served it warm instead of hot'. Also, the staff was short and it took forever to place an order. We also ordered a salmon crepe and it was too salty to eat. In short the place looks inviting but the food and drinks do not stand up to expectations.

We sat outside and the while the furniture is a bit old, it does have this rustic nice feel to it. Inside seems pretty cosy too.

However, my first visit to C'est La Vie Café this past weekend was a plea... read more I have tried most of the lunch spots in Val-David and have been somewhat disappointed. However, my first visit to C'est La Vie Café this past weekend was a pleasant surprise. The café has a spacious deck for outdoor dining in the summer, and the service was prompt compared to other places in town. My friends enjoyed their breakfast dishes, and I had the roasted veggie sandwich, which was delicious. My only complaint is that when we tried to order the goat cheese salad at 12:45, we were told salads were not available and had to order breakfast instead. However, 15 minutes later at 1pm, other patrons were getting salads. It felt like they were trying to turnover tables quickly, but I wish they had just been honest about the wait time. Regardless, I would give C'est La Vie Café another chance, but maybe after 1pm next time.
