Wi... read more Despite arriving when most people are having coffee, staff were delighted to find us a table in the packed dining room that overlooks the river valley below. With an excellent choice of starters, a set main and choice of desserts we settled on the 12...Euro menu. The food was amazing value for money, simply prepared, served hot and without fuss. Wine and coffee were extra. The view from the only toilet accessed from the rear balcony is stunning. This is a real gem of a place set in a wonderful time capsule.

We came by chance over this restaurant to a lunch break on the way from the gers to the loire, uzerche is very close to the carbahn. the village is beautiful, n... read more We came by chance over this restaurant to a lunch break on the way from the gers to the loire, uzerche is very close to the carbahn. the village is beautiful, no street noise they could be a million miles away. as others have said, denise champtiaux is a pretty no frill place and without admitting to the English language! However, the workers were very pleasant and we sat on the narrow balcony at the back of the restaurant with its stunning view of the river and the surrounding landscape. the 13 Euro set lunch menu was really delicious local pate with good brot, steak with creamy potato followed by Rhabarb tea or cheese and accompanied by a small carafe of very good rose. will we be in the opposite again?
