The Temeraire - Uttlesford

This pub has the potential to be a nice place to eat if only it were given some care and attention. We have eaten here a few times over the years but yet the food continues to be served lukewarm and “Chef Mic” had clearly been a factor in warming the apple crumble and custard. A simple classic that I subsequently wish I had bothered ordering. Disappointing.

The food was satisfying, it arrived promptly and was priced well. We enjoyed the refillable coffee, which was a nice bonus. The bar staff was lovely, but the only downside was the waitress who delivered our food smelled terribly and appeared as though she had just rolled out of bed with only a few minutes to spare before work.

The food was excellent as always and the steak cooked perfectly. The staff are welcoming, efficient and extremely helpful. For the price range this establíshment can't be beaten

The food at this restaurant was fantastic. The steak was cooked perfectly to medium well and the heatwave burger tasted similar to KFC. Both dishes were served hot and were delicious. The staff was attentive and we constantly saw different employees cleaning, serving, and checking on customers. One standout staff member named Mark worked tirelessly and efficiently. The restaurant was very clean, even cleaner than other Wetherspoons locations we have eaten at. We were impressed to see staff members cleaning menus diligently. We will definitely recommend this restaurant and plan to return in the future.
