We've been using Lam's for years, and it always used to be great. However, the last few takeaways we've had have been really bland. It'd been a good few months since we'd had one, so thought we'd give them another go to see if things...had improved. They hadn't. The food was, again, really bland and tasteless. Following a Chinese takeaway meal for me and my partner recently, we’ve both been feeling unwell from the extremely high volume of monosodium glutamate (salt) for days now. We won’t be returning!
Due to having to move out of my area due to I tried Lam's Chinese. The food is quite expensive for what it is, but was reasonable in taste. The items I had were rather small portions; I got the hot appetizer (for ..at nearly for that I got and a half rib (which taste really nice, just not enough a few pieces of prawn toast (again nice, not enough), small crab claw (were okay), and a small mound of seaweed (quite sweet! The Chicken balls were the best out of the order; the sweet and sour source was very nice (nice and thick !! The special chow-mien was nothing to write home about to be honest; I did find it father bland and dry I ate it the following day and after really warming it up in the microwave it tasted better !! On the whole, Lam's is ok.
There are not many Chinese places that i can say are that good but this place saved me from my experience in the pub next door , and i have to say it was most nice and the food nice and fresh. The price was...not bad as well considering i had already parted with money for something totally uneatable in the next door pub !
