Description

Watts Restaurant in Utica delivers comforting, old‑fashioned homestyle cooking with generous portions, speedy friendly service and a cozy diner/Amish‑country vibe. Specials like chicken and noodles, glazed pork chops, meatloaf and a tempting selection of pies keep it busy; takeout and affordable coffee add convenience. Patrons praise reasonable prices and hearty sides, though quality can be inconsistent (tough ribs, skimpy soup, weak coffee reported) and parking is tight. A long‑standing local favorite for families and travelers seeking classic comfort food.

We just ordered sandwiches. Nothing special. Tomato on BLT was a bit green. Bacon was not crunchy. Bolonga sandwich was good and fresh fries. But, should have had sliced cheddar not shredded on the sandwich.

Always good food and service! Last trip took way too long too get food. Looked like they only had one waitress working. Disappointed I could not get their great home fries at breakfast time.

First and foremost, if you're fortunate enough to have Theresa as your server, you're in for a fantastic dining experience. As first-time visitors, she truly made our time there delightful. My husband ordered the seafood plate, which included a crab cake, a cod fillet, clam strips, and shrimp, along with two sides. He said it was delicious. I opted for the liver and onions, also accompanied by two sides. I had hoped to sample a few different dishes, but since we were out for a drive, takeout wasn't an option. It’s worth noting that choosing a side can be challenging as they offer a wide variety of great options. In addition to the regular menu, they have daily specials as well — I’ve attached a photo of those. And don’t miss their amazing selection of baked goods, including cakes, pies, and cookies; unfortunately, we were too full to try any. The only drawback during our meal was overhearing a staff member speaking unprofessionally to another employee, which was quite disrespectful. I did attempt to speak with Andrew, the manager, before we left, but was informed that he was busy and unavailable.
