Description
Watt’s Family Restaurant in Utica offers warm, family-style comfort cooking, standout homemade cakes and pies, and friendly, attentive service. Regulars praise classics like chicken and noodles, prime rib and generous bakery offerings, plus convenient takeout and event cakes. Recently diners have reported rising prices, smaller portions, and occasional inconsistencies (undercooked or greasy seafood, recipe changes), tempering otherwise nostalgic, dependable dining.

We have visited this restaurant multiple times, and it's quickly become one of our favorite dining spots. The prices are quite reasonable, and the staff is incredibly friendly. They offer an impressive selection of cakes and desserts. I even made a special trip just to pick up a few cakes for an event! Everything is homemade and absolutely delicious! We plan to return as often as we can.
"The new owner has significantly increased prices—chicken that used to cost $10.49 is now $16. A piece of cake has gone from $3.99 to $5.99, and a tablespoon of ice costs extra. They even wanted to charge extra for gravy on the potatoes. I will never return; the food was dry, and the chicken portion was the smallest I’ve ever seen. It feels like the new owner is really gouging customers. At this rate, they might not survive another hundred years, and I doubt they'll last three."

Great family restaurant with a great home cooked meal taste. They have good cooked sour kraut, beef and gravy with mashed potatoes and pasta not to mention they have a whole display case and counter full of pies and cakes (German chocolate being my favorite) as you walk in to be seated. Definitely worth 5 stars. This place never disappoints.
I was very disappointed with Watts today. I ordered the catfish platter; 45 minutes later I was informed that the cooks were having trouble getting the center cooked. I chose cod to replace it; it was terrible 2/3 greasy, nasty crust and 1/3 cod meat. My wife 's fish tail was not cooked in the center. The older cashier man did not ask if everything was OK; he was promoting their delicious catfish to another customer. A young man stepped to register and I commented about the 'delicious ' catfish that I never received. His only response was 'sorry about that '. This is very poor customer care by both men. It should have been a free meal! It was my last time to visit Watts.
