Love this place I eat here all the time. Good people. I order deluxe pho, chicken/ pork with vermicelli, crispy veggie rolls and Vietnamese iced coffee with black jelly. Sometimes get a Vietnamese hoagie to take home. Everything is served perfectly every time. For those who go to Hmart, I recommend having a meal here before going. Haha It was certified by a Vietnamese friend! Really delicious! I ordered beef rice noodles, and I was happy because there was so much meat in it. The staff were also friendly and made me feel good. This is a really good vietnamese restaurant. Taste and service were perfect. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Not a great food experience and sadly payment experience made it worse. Food: I had high hopes, but I 'm confused about why this place is so highly rated and recommended by Philadelphia foodie blogs. The portions were great, but the food was not good. It wasn 't terrible, but it definitely wasn 't enjoyable. I 'm not sure what or how they cook it, but the broth smelled off, making me hesitant to try it. Eventually, I decided to taste it, and all I can say is that it wasn 't horrible, but it wasn 't good either. The meat was not flavorful, and while it was edible, it 's not something anyone would want to come back for. In a polite summary, the broth and meat were stale. Ambiance: The ambiance is an average old school setup. It 's a bit dark and not the cleanest, but it 's okay. If you plan to take a date here, you can describe it as an authentic spot. Service: The staff was great, except for the guy who took my bill. They were quick and friendly. But for the guy in charge of taking the bill... For future reference, if the bill is around $25, and a customer pays with two twenties or a fifty, just bring back the proper change. Why ask or assume the rest is a tip!? You didn 't see me park a Ferrari, Lamborgni, McLaren or a Bently; my last name is not Bezos, Buffett, or Murdoch; I 'm not wealthy, and tipping at 90 or 100 percent of my meals is not feasible for me. Also, provide the correct change instead of high bills to passively but aggressively encourage a higher tip. It 's awkward and makes the customer uncomfortable. Those tactics feel aggressive or desperate. Such an interaction made me reconsider my tipping decision. You still received a tip above average because that one action is not reflective of the staff, but it 'll be my first and last time here. I 'll tip you for not asking and just going through the motions without any weird moments. I can 't and wouldn 't recommend this place. I 'm truly confused as to why it is so highly rated! I will not return.
