Surprised this place only has a 4.1 rating. I’ve only had Persian food a couple times so I’m definitely not an expert, but the food was excellent. All the different types of meat I ordered was cooked perfectly and the tabouli salad was fresh and tart. Wish my stomach was bigger. Definitely need to come back and try more options. What Marissa G doesn't like about rumi restaurant:
First time trying this place Menu pictures of plates online where great of courseI Ordered takeout for myself and friend of mine This was all that was in the bag. Kindly asked for spicy sauce and sauces on the side, and utensils when placing the order saw nothing in the bag once at home. Paid just under $10 for a cup of yogurt Lamb Shashlik Kabob $40 worthWas a bit embarrassed in front of my guest to say the least. View all feedback.
Food here is definitely fresh and filling. I was served grilled vegetables while told that it is veggie kabab. Other than that, it was a good experience.
5 Star for service. But , Sorry the reason for single star is because we 2 were charged $5/ split fee and with no extra food and not told in advance. I would not have minded to pay IF we were told during ordering food. or put a notice somewhere. I hate surprises and hence the single star. We ordered appetizer, salad and main course which was pretty decent amount. I respect their policy but its fair to announce when customer mention they are sharing food. Also, this is definitely NOT a place for Vegetarians. Stay away.. Except some dry grilled Vegies Kababs with dry rice.. there is nothing else for main course. It was tasty but nothing special for a veggie connoisseur. : For owners response. Thanks for pointing out the fine print on menu. But when we requested for extra plates.. in fact had to come to counter to ask . As a customer would expect the surprise charges to be told. Also.. we did order other dishes . But no worries.. it was an experience for us. Thanks for your smiling service.
Used to be good, a shame that the quality went went down. This will be my last order.Called the store to let them know they charged me $69+ tip for a totally burnt lamb shishlik, she asked me to return the food and exchange for another dish as she claimed they ran out of the shishlik on a Saturday lunch?!Instead of taking pride in their work, they refuse to take responsibility for their food. You lost my weekly orders, way to go!
I recently had the unfortunate opportunity to visit Rumi and I must say, it was one of the worst dining experiences I've had in a long time. From the moment I stepped through the door, it was clear that this place lacked any sense of quality or professionalism.Moving on to the food, it was an absolute disaster. We ordered chicken and lamb shank. Lamb shank was uncooked and cold and we couldn't eat it. She brought koobide instead, which was so awful too. chicken was so dry, I never had such a terrible chicken polo before. To make matters worse, the portion sizes were ridiculously small for the exorbitant prices they were charging. I left feeling hungry and unsatisfied And very disappointed.
My mom was raving about this place having come here for dinner so I had to try it out. We arrived for a late lunch on the weekend around 2pm and the place was mainly empty except for another family. They had lots of to go orders coming through and the girl at the front was welcoming and friendly. We ordered our food and it came pretty fast but wasn't as fresh as excepted. The rice wasn't the usual buttery flavorful rice you find at Persian food spots but rather just a plain basmati that was dry. The kabobs also didn't taste as fresh but the chicken was good and flavorful. Might be hit or miss at this spot so I would be willing to try it out again. The owner was really sweet with helping my parents find the spot since it's a little hidden when they first went and opened later so 4 stars!
