LOVED IT. Everything was delicious and well worth it. Our appetizer (a green tomato/prosciutto/cheese stack) was phenomenal. My husband inhaled his meal, which was the blackened tile fish. I got the tree hugger with chicken and I loved it. We also got dessert: I got the caramel cheese cake and he got the key lime pie. They were both decadent. Would love to go back next time we visit! What Sayra Brasil doesn't like about Blue Moon Beach Grill:
Service and atmosphere were great, but the food was lacking. The fries served were pretty bad and the dishes left a lot to be desired in terms of flavor and presentation. View all feedback.
Sitting outside at the bar we had terrific service by Ben he was kind funny and patient an helpful in every way
We were told that we had a 1.5 hour wait for a table of 8 and at the two hour mark we were told we had 4 parties ahead of us. We did complain and suddenly a table was available outside. The service was great and the atmosphere was fine but the food was very bland and the don’t have a very good variety of choices. My wife ordered the Mahi sandwich and it was dry and not seasoned at all. I wanted an oyster po-boy but was told that It was only a lunch item and I could get the fried oyster platter. I had never eaten at this place before so I just wanted a smaller portion of oysters to see how they were. I decided on a cheesesteak since the options for seafood was kinda limited to some odd choices. It was an average cheesesteak that I could have gotten anywhere. We’re not fans and the OBX has many more better restaurants that blow it away.
There was a two hour minimum waiting but we got lucky and found a place at the. Great drinks and the food was exceptional. The Oysters Rockefeller wonderful my husband had the cheese steak sandwich which was off the hook. The bartender recommended the cheese sauce and it was amazing. I had the Tree Hugger pasta, which was unique and tasty . Considering how slammed this place was we received very good service. I will be back.
We went in on a Wednesday night it was fairly busy we were told it would be an hour to an hour and a half for a table. In the meantime we decided to sit at the bar and have a few drinks until our table was ready. I had the sangria and the calamari which was good however the amount of flies by the bar area was pretty disgusting. We were a party of four and the other couple we were with had to sit at a different place at the bar and they decided to go ahead and order food after sitting there for about 30 minutes because they were hungry and didn't want to wait an hour or an hour and a half or a table. So of course right after they did so our table was ready they told the bartender that our table was ready and went ahead and closed out at the bar. The bartender told them no problem at all and they would have the food brought out to the table. The bartenders were not that great it was not that busy at the bar and we were ignored quite a few times. We finally get our table we order our food and the other couple was waiting for their food because they had ordered before us. I guess it was the manager I'm not sure she came and delivered the food that the other couple had ordered to the table and made a rude remark that they normally don't let people order food from the bar and move to a table...that comment was uncalled for all she had to do was deliver the food to the table for the customers with a smile who already paid their table at the bar mind you without an attitude! Mind you there are plenty of other places in the outer banks that we could have gone to eat however we chose to eat at that establishment and spend money! I do however find it hard to believe that other customers have not done this in the past and I honestly do not see what the big deal was when the whole table was paid for at the bar. I had the mahi-mahi BLT which was very good and their fries were very good as well crispy not soggy! The beautiful artwork in the restaurant made up for the rude manager. However, next time we are in town I do not think we will be visiting that location again. We visit quite often and we like to go out for a nice dinner and our tab is normally around $100 or more. Maybe she was having a bad night I'm not sure but it was terrible customer service coming from a manager or an assistant manager!
Blue Moon Beach Grill in Nags Head was the best restaurant we stopped at during our week in the Outer Banks. The food was absolutely amazing, the service was incredible. It was a pretty busy Friday night, the hostess and staff were very friendly and welcoming, we were told there was a normal wait time, 45 minutes, at a good restaurant in a beach vacation town for 5:00 on a Friday. We were able to find a seat at the bar and able to cancel our place in the seating wait line with a simple text. The bartender was extremely experienced and a great people person. He was managing 12 to 15 seats at the bar for drink and food orders in a very quick manner. The support staff that were working with him to keep the bar supplied with everything it needed were constant and amazing. The servers from the kitchen delivered the meals exactly to the customer that ordered it! Added to that great experience the musician that was paling in the Back Yard of the restaurant was very good!! The back yard has lots of chairs, a hammock and a couple of corn hole sets if I remember correctly.
