We had reserved a table at 7:30 pm and Bruno was standing on the terrace to greet us as we came driving down the hill from the old picturesque village of Preggio. Unfortunately we do not speak that much Italian, but both Bruno and Helena speak excellent English. Tables were laid cotton tablecloths, tables and chairs in dark wood, and the atmosphere is country like and unpretentious. Elena does all the cooking herself, and it is all ecological. The menu was set, and every course was really well prepared, tasty and delicious. We had the opportunity to try their own production of wine, both red and rose´, their own DOP olive oil, and even their own honey. Remarkable place run by even more remarkable and hospitable people. A place worth returning to many times.
I would definitely recommend this charming restaurant. It is like being invited to a friend's house for dinner! The location is delightful and the service warm and friendly. Everything was tastefully presented from the crisp tablecloths and table settings to the food itself. I just love the decor! Helena and Bruno are delightful hosts who also speak excellent English. We were served delicious fruits and vegetables straight from their organic garden and the home-produced chicken was succulent. Bread and pastries are also home made. We bought bottles of their home-produced Extra Virgin Olive Oil and rich red wine to take home as it was so amazing. A perfect venue for any occasion.
