Last night, I had 4 puddings! Base Pudding Club was absolutely brilliant! The two savoury courses were awesome but all 4 puddings were amazing and I was in heaven! I hope they do another Pudding Club night as I’ll be the first at the door! Mojito Sorbet, Chocolate Bavarois, Rosy Apple and Lemon Fool. We’ve been here a few times before and the food is always excellent but it seems to be getting better every time we visit. Nice to find out last night that this place is dog friendly during the day too so we will be back for lunch!

I'd have given 5 for the atmosphere as the vibe was really chilled but music is very important to me so would have preferred instrumental background music (that's subjective such a first world problem! . They ha... read more Lunch here was underwhelming. There is a claim that this is a scratch kitchen. I saw a chef carrying packets of shop-bought flatbreads from the lock up. They had a slightly stale taste. A scrape of cream cheese and a sprinkle of rocket didn’t do much to elevate the bland trencher. The smoked salmon was fine, nothing special. Something I could disappoint myself with in my own kitchen. My wife’s ham hock 2cheese was better but saltier than me right now. MiL’s prawns were ok. Kids meal was fine. Nothing was great. For £50 it was a total rip off. Service staff were lovely. Atmosphere was fine. It’s just a park cafe with notions. You’d be better off spending your money elsewhere.
