My favorite place for lunch after a trip to Kmart or Broadway shopping. You can't go wrong with their Taiwanese pork minced rice bento and the stewed pork belly with rice. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Sunflower Taiwanese Gourmet:
The Sunflower Taiwanese restaurant is extremely popular among students because they offer an array of local Taiawanese dishes below $12. I ordered the minced pork rice and braised eggs from the restaurant. The food is simply disappointing the rice is overcooked and mushy whereas the minced pork are overly dry and salty. I cannot make myself finish them. View all feedback.
Went here for lunch date. place was of full of customers but we got our food quickly. my fav was the egg pancake was very crispy and tasty. the special fish soup was great value for money!!<br/
Sunflower feels like it has been there forever <br/ Apart from Essen it feels like the others next to them on the same street don't last <br/ So they must be doing something right <br/ <br/ It's a small place and I don't think it's wheelchair accessible <br/ <br/ You order at the counter and seating is limited so no big groups in here <br/ <br/ Me and Food_Rampage_AM @INSTA ordered by recommendations on the menu <br/ <br/ Pork schnitzel for me,Al ginger pork soup. We shared sum entrees,Taiwanese sausage and, from memory, soy stewed pork <br/ <br/ My pork schnitzel was ok,2 small fried boneless pieces, nothing special but what came with it like pork mince on top of the rice and this coleslaw were really nice. <br/ <br/ Al's dish looked huge <br/ <br/ Al was right, the Taiwanese sausage was similar to Chinese sausage but I liked the Taiwanese version more, its texture was nice and it had more flavour to it <br/ <br/ The soy pork was nice and soft and tasty <br/ <br/ Food came out at a reasonable rate and prices are reasonable also <br/ <br/ I liked this place more than I should and I'm not sure why
Ginger pork noodle soup 4/5, served generously in a large bowl with plenty of piping hot belly warming broth, one of the best (hand-pulled? noodles i have tasted in a long time. Fine tune your meal with the free sauces chillies condiments available. <br/ <br/ Taiwanese sausage 3.5/5, didnt look like much until i took a bite and almost couldnt stop. A bit like chinese/hongkong-ese sausage (lap cheong but way softer. Please dont ask me to choose which is better. <br/ <br/ Soy braised pork belly 3.75/5, sliced thinly melt in your mouth goodness this was, only social decorum and self restraint stopped me from polishing this off by meself esp when the i got the meal shouted by my good dining companion. <br/ <br/ Company 4.75/5, minus 0.25 for not letting me eat everything!! Thanks SydguyRoj.
Attentive service, good food and mediocre drink. Ordered their signature crispy chicken fillet for $6.50 and it was super yummy. Self serve condiments and water are a given. The passionfruit smoothie for $4.80 was ok, don't think ill buy it again. Happy to come again.
This place is definitely value for money. Portions are large and flavourful, but the lower food quality is noticeable e.g. Cuts of meat used compared to t+ or din tai fung. <br/ The drinks taste as good as any other place and are discounted if you buy a meal ^ ^ <br/ also short walk from usyd.
