The Local MBassy is a great cafe with all round fantastic food. Their breakfast treats are heavenly as well as their amazing variety of hot and cool drinks. Another great thing about this cafe is the staff who are so kind and friendly. This cafe makes you feel so welcome and they truly care about your dining experience. View all feedback.

What Anonym dislikes about Local Mbassy:
Firstly, they got our order wrong even though it was hardly crowded. Received meatball shashouka and red velvet pancakes. The meatballs were quite dry so the tomato sauce it was in really helped. The red velvet pancakes were dry and cold. It came with too much cream and was rather disappointing. No doubt it looked very pretty and appetising but taste-wise was a let-down. Price was reasonable and service was good. The... View all feedback.

A small cafe with great food and interesting speciality lattes. Though I've only tried the taro latte so far, it was delicious! Their specialities are red velvet pancakes and lattes - but their regular menu is just as impressive.

After reading all the good reviews about the place , I almost felt I went to the wrong cafe . This is clearly a below average cafe for a 3.5+ . First of all the cake we had is dense and firm, it felts like it has been sits there for a good old week , it's a crime to charge a piece of cake in that quality for $12 . The whole place felts like a hipster dumping ground , there is no attention to details and you can see the owner is trying to cutting expenses in every possible way . The menu I have got is dirty and smelly, the front page is raped off . The customer service is petty average too, even tho the waitress girl is very friendly, it takes her 3 times to have the correct order ,a small skin FW . The owner , I guess , is a grumpy old man spend all his time standing behind the cashier doing nothing , there is no greeting when we talked in , the cashier facing the front door, and when we are waiting at the cashier to fix the bill, he totally ignored us and talked to his staff and then walked away , left us with an unattended cashier . There is no " hi guys, how is everything ?" Or " I'll be back in a minute ." Just left .. I think I would had more pleasure watching my $50 note burn into ash than brunch at this place .

Visited this place with friends because I saw on IG they serve red velvet pancakes, red velvet, taro and matcha latte and a few other dishes. Since migrating here in Sydney, I have only tasted real red velvet in one of the cake shops and that was located in Mortdale. I was so excited to come to this place because I am in search of a great red velvet dish. Unfortunately, this place did not deliver. Their red velvet offerings tasted like cherry, which at some point, tasted like medicine. Real red velvet should taste like cocoa powder as how the Americans create theirs. Although food that they offer are pleasing to the eyes, another dish I have ordered, Shakshuka, lacked in seasoning. However, I was happy with my matcha latte. The servers were just a bit blase and were always in a hurry as the shop was busy. They have enough seats but it was quite cramped inside. The owner however, was very pleasant and was asking our opinion about the dishes we have ordered.

This cafe is famous for their red velvet pancakes and this is definitely worth ordering. The pancakes were so soft and nicely paired with strawberries and cream. The coffee is also great and the friendly service will make your entire brunch experience a wonderful one!

It is another famous cafe on instagram. It is famous for the red velvet latte and pancakes.<br/ <br/ As a foodie we sit outside to get more natural light for good photos. The ambience inside is a little dark, with a big LOCAL text on the wall.<br/ <br/ [Red velvet latte] $4.5<br/ Very beautiful latte art. The latte is great.<br/ <br/

It's been a few years since I've been to Local Mbassy. I have fond memories of my last visit of hearty breakfasts and unique drinks. Local Mbassy is a hidden gem of a cafe located in Ultimo. The Australian Good Food Guide kindly facilitated this most recent revisit to Local Mbassy. You can read about my first visit here.

Visited this cafe around two weeks ago and it was lovely service! The staff gave us a choice of where to sit which was appreciated since it was quite a windy day so sitting close to the door would've been pretty chilly. They went to the effort of moving the table for us so that we could all sit comfortably around other customers as well.<br/ <br/ This place has been on my to go list for a while because of the red velvet pancakes which were really nice and not too dry as my friend commented that sometimes they tend to be. I'm not a huge dessert person but I enjoyed them!<br/ <br/ I wasn't too into the balsamic glaze on top of the smashed avo myself but I think that was a poor dish choice on my part knowing that I like very basic brunch food. It was quite a lot of avocado and egg for one slice of bread would've fit two slices better in my opinion.<br/ <br/ Overall, would come again for the lovely service and I'd be keen to try other things on the menu too!

When Local Mbassy first opened in Ultimo, it was one of the first cafes in the Wentworth Park area. It quickly developed a cult following centred around their red velvet pancakes, which remain on the menu today, four years on. In the ensuing period, more cafes have sprung up in the local area, mostly at the bases of the new residential towers that make up Sydney's second most densely settled suburb (after Potts Point). Working in with the concrete jungle, the Local Mbassy team have made the most of being at the base of a tall building by creating a boiler room fit-out. It sits under a tangle of exposed pipes, with each...
