I happen to locate this re... read more It’s funny that there aren’t many reviews about this place because I think they serve pretty good unadon you can find in Ulaanbaatar. I happen to locate this restaurant while I was inside Bluesky hotel tower block. Zen is situated on 2nd level. The interior and decor is pretty good and the place is pleasant. Staff are pretty attentive and some could speak English. Menu is well laid out, clear and concise. I ordered unadon, wakame seaweed salad and mixed tempura. The wakame was many one of the best I’ve had in Ulaanbaatar because they don’t overkill the taste with loads of soya sauce. Unadon was actually pretty good. Portions were right and the eel was seasoned well. It was on the light side but it works for me. The mixed tempura portions were good enough for 3 people. It was OK but a lot better than other restaurants that serve the same in Ulaanbaatar. Overall, the food is pretty good. Prices may be expensive by Ulaanbaatar standards but if you happen to crave Japanese food, check them out.
