Haaheim gaard is beautifully located on the island tyrosen on the mountain side, the lodge is located a 20-minute drive from the ferry station on the south side... read more Haaheim gaard is beautifully located on the island tyrosen on the mountain side, the lodge is located a 20-minute drive from the ferry station on the south side of the island. the hotel is restored from an old farm, and many of the original elements of the farm were successfully combined with the modern interieur, and the atmosphere and the feeling of the history at the location is great. my wife and I arrived in the early evening and after check-in and presentation in our room we were asked when we wanted to eat. the tables were placed in the atmospheric restaurant, and the 5-course menu was amazing to smoke from the foie gras to scallops. the food was very well paired with a large wine selection, starting with various white for the three first courses, red for the main and a sweet dessert wine for the chocolate fondant with ice and strawberry. we were also asked when we wanted breakfast, and when we came to the restaurant in the morning, we were specially hired for my wife and I and made a selection of gluten-free foods available. the cook has made eggs and speculates our joy and the buffet offers several local specialties such as hering, jam and broth, all made in the house. the only thing my wife and I missed during our stay was espresso-based coffee, but this is hardly worth mentioning as the rest of our experience was so great. all in all my wife and I had an excellent experience and would very much like to return in the summer season. I can give my warmest recommendations.
