Had breakfast. All the meals are expensive here, and while it was acceptable, for the kind of price they charge, there should be a marching band or something. Also, they took forever, even though the restaurant didn't seem that busy. But hey, it is right in the resort if you're staying, so it's a judgement call on your part.
We were a family of three who dined there yesterday. The restaurant is located in the Red Rock resort and is pretty exclusive. The service was excellent and we did not feel rushed at all. Our server was pleasant and did her job well. The...location is wonderful and overlooks the Pacific ocean. However, it was dark when we went so there was nothing visible. We ordered bread and grilled beets as starters. Firstly, the bread had to be ordered. Secondly, it was just slices of brown bread, served with butter. For a restaurant that claims to be artisan inspired, the bread was below average. Any artisan bakery worth its flour bakes better bread! The beets were excellent. I ordered catch of the day and that was Arctic Char. It was pan seared and good but I doubt it was catch of the day as Tofino/Ucluelet waters do not have this fish. My daughter's lamb rice was good too. My husband is vegetarian, and that seemed an issue. There was only one vegetarian option: grilled vegetables on a dry bed of rice. The vegetables were supposed to be served with a mayo that came when we were half way through the dinner. Dry rice was difficult to put down the throat. They did serve a gravy when we told the server that the dish was difficult to eat. Overall, I paid top $ for the ambience and location.
The quality of the food is rather good and prices are OK, but the menu was a bit limited when we were there, the same every day.
We had a lovely dinner for two overlooking the sunset on the Pacific Ocean. Currents is a pretty setting with stunning views. The food was also very good. We shared a beet salad and enjoyed freshly baked sourdough bread. Local salmon was the special so...my partner had that while I had a perfectly cooked steak. Their smashed potatoes were simply amazing! Accompanied by a nice bottle of BC wine it was a lovely dinner.
