Had breakfast. All the meals are expensive here, and while it was acceptable, for the kind of price they charge, there should be a marching band or something. Also, they took forever, even though the restaurant didn't seem that busy. But hey, it is right in the resort if you're staying, so it's a judgement call on your part.

We were a family of three who dined there yesterday. The restaurant is located in the Red Rock resort and is pretty exclusive. The service was excellent and we did not feel rushed at all. Our server was pleasant and did her job well. The...location is wonderful and overlooks the Pacific ocean. However, it was dark when we went so there was nothing visible. We ordered bread and grilled beets as starters. Firstly, the bread had to be ordered. Secondly, it was just slices of brown bread, served with butter. For a restaurant that claims to be artisan inspired, the bread was below average. Any artisan bakery worth its flour bakes better bread! The beets were excellent. I ordered catch of the day and that was Arctic Char. It was pan seared and good but I doubt it was catch of the day as Tofino/Ucluelet waters do not have this fish. My daughter's lamb rice was good too. My husband is vegetarian, and that seemed an issue. There was only one vegetarian option: grilled vegetables on a dry bed of rice. The vegetables were supposed to be served with a mayo that came when we were half way through the dinner. Dry rice was difficult to put down the throat. They did serve a gravy when we told the server that the dish was difficult to eat. Overall, I paid top $ for the ambience and location.

The quality of the food is rather good and prices are OK, but the menu was a bit limited when we were there, the same every day.

I recently dined at Currents restaurant and tried the trout dish, which was both innovative and tasty. However, I couldn't help but wonder why seafood is often hyped up at restaurants. Especially here on the coast of the Pacific Ocean, one would think that it would be a top priority for a restaurant.

Currents, the restaurant at Ucluelet’s BlackRock Oceanfront Resort, has 90 dining seats of which all have a view of spectacular Pacific Ocean vistas. Food is ocean friendly in all ways. The menus are culinary adventures with dishes ranging from sumptuous steaks at 41$, to the...fish catch of the day, cooked with” love and restraint “ at MP, depending on what the sea offers up each day. Service is also friendly. There are many good reasons to visit Currents. Breakfast is from 8 to 11 am, with brunch on Saturday Sunday extending the time to 1pm. Dinner is from 5:30 pm. On both menus, options are extensive, include dishes for children. I am in Ucluelet this November, so far the weather this week is perfect, showing the Pacific waters twinkling in the sunny surrounds. The Wild Pacific trail, which attracts people from around the world to this west coast rainforest, is just steps away, perfect to work off one’s meal. Posted by S Fuller
