Delicious food, presented well, fresh and filling. We stopped by for lunch and had our modest expectations blown away. The lunch portions were generous and priced remarkably well £5 per main course). Also, the service and amenities were quite welcoming to our family as they provided high chairs and children's cutlery. Fantastic experience.
Was pleasantly surprised with our visit to Proper Gander. The staff were attentive, friendly and polite. Despite being a cosy place it did not feel cramped. The food was delicious and very well presented,. We will definitely be going back again in the future. Thank you 5 stars
Food is very good quality and the staff are all lovely and very knowledgeable! Couldn't recommend enough.
The appetizers and desserts were disappointing. However, the main course was quite good. I have never experienced such a difference in quality between dishes at a restaurant before. The appetizers seemed like they could have been made by anyone and were not very good. The dessert tasted store-bought and was not even warmed up. On the other hand, the main course was well-cooked. When I mentioned my dissatisfaction to the waitress, she admitted that she wasn't surprised by my comments. It makes me wonder why they don't make any changes then. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this restaurant or consider going back. The service was satisfactory for dining in.
This restaurant should be allowed into the top section of food services. We were celebrating our 50th anniversary and we were totally spoiled with the quality of the food presented to us this evening. It was easily the equivalent of eating at 5 star Michelin restaurants. It was a wonderful calming place to eat. I will be describing the values of Proper Gander to everyone I speak to for the next 12 months. We are already planning to come back again in the near future.
