What Jbgreenf doesn't like about The Commons Fooderie 1750 Tysons:
We moved from the area and our first time back. Landry’s has ruined the Palm. No lobster, small pours, steak was under weight and portions cut in half. Manager gave a bs response. Done with the Palm and so sad. Landry’s is the Walmart of steak house restaurants. Don’t go. View all feedback.

Very nice restaurant, great place for a special evening. The menu is extensive and the food was delicious. Very good veal chop and bass. Service was also excellent. Drinks were a little water down but very well made. There is a valet parking service which makes getting there very convenient.
We were in the DC area for a wedding and staying at the Ritz-Carlton at Tysons Corner that is located next door to the Palm. Our reservation was immediately honored, although I would have preferred a booth, which was not offered (and as my cousin was our guest, I didn’t want to make a stink). The waiter was a bit curt, but adequate. He advised us of the specials, but didn’t cite the prices. We ordered appetizers, main courses, and desserts. My husband liked the half-dozen oysters; the calamari could have been crisper and the marinara was small. My cousin liked his chicken parm. My husband and I split a twelve-ounce filet mignon, which I thought was tough and overcooked. The side of au gratin potatoes was so-so — certainly not as good as Capital Grille’s version. The grilled asparagus was fine. The waiter checked in after we had started to dig into our main courses and said: “Everything delicious!” We didn’t agree but kept quiet. We had the doughnuts and crème brûlée for dessert: the doughnuts were good; the crème brûlée was mediocre. Rare for us: we didn’t eat all the desserts. Net-net: I wouldn’t go back to this location. Morton’s. Capital Grille. Ruth Chris. All worth a visit. The Palm: not so much.
The food of all of us was bland and not seasoned. Waiter claimed they don 't use salt on anything because they are worried some people might not want salt for health reasons. Then he brings out sea salt and uses his nicotine stained fingers to sprinkle salt on my wife 's filet. I had veal parmigiana, the tomato sauce was tasted more like tomato paste, no herbs or seasoning, bland. Tuna Tartar just chuncks of tuna, no seasoning and bland. Wedge salad was not, chopped up salad with little bacon and severed with oil and vinegar and a sprinkle of blue cheese. When we asked: We changed way we make it ten years ago. When asked why chopped up, You wanted to share. How come other order of salad that was not being shared was also chopped up. No answer. Every thing was bland and we were all very disappointed. For the food received the prices were beyond outrageous. Been here eight-ten times over the years. Never again. You can do much better cheaper elsewhere.
Dinner during a conference, great experience! The shrimp appetizer was excellent 8oz Filet never disappoints Did family style sides for table, the creamed spinach was exceptional. Drinks were not watered down. Overall, another great meal at The Palm regardless of the location.
