**Restaurant Review: A Culinary Experience at Prime 102**
Prime 102 in downtown Tyler, TX, presents a mixed bag of dining experiences. While some patrons rave about the spectacular service and exquisite dishes—highlighting the aged steaks and flavorful sides—others express disappointment at the inconsistency in food quality, with reports of bland flavors and poorly executed dishes. Despite some negative experiences, the elegant atmosphere and attentive staff, particularly in celebrating special occasions, elevate the dining journey. Desserts, especially the beloved bread pudding, consistently receive acclaim. For those seeking a memorable meal, Prime 102 promises potential—if the culinary execution matches the enchanting ambiance.

We decided to try a new restaurant for our anniversary and selected this one, but it turned out to be a disappointment. The only highlight was the bread. The wedge salad was drenched in dressing and lacked any flavor. I ordered the sea bass, which was a thick piece of fish, but it was completely bland. I found myself looking for salt and pepper, but there were none available. I also tried the potato casserole, but I couldn't eat it because the potatoes were crunchy. My husband ordered the special NY Strip, which was also tasteless. We ended up spending $200 on a meal that left us both dissatisfied and still hungry.
If you know me then you know this is my favorite restaurant!!! The food is always good!
The food was spectacular. Enjoyed every minute of it to service was very good. I tend to think the server had maybe too many tables that night. Maybe on that in there could have been a little more help but she did a great job. My steak was phenomenal. It was melting your mouth butter good came with two scallops that were awesome. Very much enjoyed. We ordered dessert to go. We all got bread pudding and it was amazing as usual. I'm very much enjoyed. The atmosphere was a little pricey but we expected that will definitely be back for another date night.
Nice bar area with friendly bartenders. We did not have the chance to try a dish, but they all looked quite scrumptious from the viewpoint.
It was a gift. Our family was impressed with the renovated building, the very nice waiter and the formality of the setting. The menu sounded amazing. I enjoyed my meal but it tasted like something I could have gotten at an average restaurant. When we left, 2 of the others felt the meat was average or below (one steak too fatty and the beef tips a meager plate and too rare). The third one had a sandwich that he liked. I wish the food could measure up to the atmosphere. It would be a great place to enjoy a delicious meal for a special occasion.
