Not exactly a confidence booster, right?I ordered the... read more Picture this: it 's Friday at peak lunchtime, and you roll up to Local BBQ, only to find the place empty. Not exactly a confidence booster, right?I ordered the brisket and the pork ribs, hoping to uncover some smoky treasures. The brisket, however, was in a bit of an identity crisis. It had virtually no bark, no smoke ring, and, well, not much flavor to write home about.The ribs had potential. They were all dressed up in a flavorful rub, ready to impress. But when it came to tenderness, they put up a good fight, making me work for every bite. Falling-off-the-bone? Not quite.On the bright side, the place was so clean you could eat off the floor, but let 's be honest, it 's hard for a joint to get messy when the employees outnumber the customers.As much as I 'd love to wave the Support Local banner, Local BBQ didn 't quite win me over. In a city brimming with great BBQ joints, this place might need a bit of a smoky makeover to compete with the barbecue heavyweights of Tyler.

The Beast... read more Underwhelming to say the least. The Turkey sandwich was really wet? As someone mentioned, tasted like it was cooked in a crock pot rather than smoked. The Beast may as well be the Wallet Beast . No sides, but a 12.00$ sandwich after tax, crazy.Price points for the portions really aren 't there. I don 't recommend this place at all. No rolls, no mac, no mash, no corn, 2.00$ a pop for a small medium drink that was the size of a small. Quite possibly the biggest waste of money. Staff was really quiet, not helpful at all, and were busy on their phone as we told them to have a good day to respond. I wouldn 't recommend eating here to anyone honestly.Edited review: Came back and dropped the food to a 1 star. Still tasting the BBQ hours later, burping up the taste of what I believe is liquid smoke. Don 't know how this has so many positive reviews.
