What Retta Kris dislikes about Breakers:
My husband and I went to an early dinner on Friday. The place had an acidic smell, but I thought they just had to hack with a dirty mop or an old mop water. We should have just left. We ordered from a very polite, efficient waiter. The bar started to fill and the place became so loud that we couldn't talk to each other. Our food arrived fast. It was best marginal. Had lunch and dinner here a few times while working a contract in Tyler last year. Great service, cool building interior- the owner said used to be an old shoe factory or something? The food is fantastic and the drinks are, too. Honestly would (and planto) make the two hour trip just to come back and eat here before too long.
This place is SO good! I don?t understand how it isn?t super crowded and having to take reservations! Super nice people working, laid back atmosphere! My husband said it is the best butterfly shrimp he has had in east Texas, and my salmon wascooked perfectly! We will definitely make this a regular spot when we go out to eat!
SO GOOD! I never eat seafood unless I?m at the beach but oh my, it was the best seasoning, the green beans and asparagus were perfectly seasoned, and the rice pilaf was amazing! Cant say how much we liked it enough! The building was cool and all thesigns and decorations were super nice. The staff was very friendly and kind! It?s a hole in the wall of a place that we neverthought about trying but it will be our go to from now on!

My husband and I had different things. I had a platter of clams, shrimp, and white fish. The waiter wasgreat....the food.....2 days later I am still regretting.

At Breakers, the oysters on the half shell were mostly excellent, though a few were large and slightly bitter. The shrimp and grits included corn that wasn’t fully cooked, but overall it’s a good dish. The menu offers a variety of appealing options worth exploring.
We were craving oysters and considered making the trip to Shreveport, but decided to give Breakers a try instead. Upon entering,...
