Breakers restaurant seems to have mixed reviews, with some customers experiencing stomach issues after eating there. Some reviewers complain about the overall quality of the food, with one mentioning that the crab was precooked and served again. However, other customers highlight the unique food offerings, good service, and fantastic seafood dishes, such as shrimp and grits. Despite the negative feedback, the restaurant also receives praise for its friendly staff, cool interior, and good drink specials. Overall, Breakers seems to have its ups and downs, but it may be worth a visit for those looking for a laid-back atmosphere and unique East Texas cuisine.

Had dinner on 12/20 at breakers. The cooked shrimps were pretty good, but disappointed with corn and potatoes. I had to let our waitress know that the potatoes were hard and cold. Definitely not cooked or steamed. Potatoes and corn were also forced. Meals were definitely too expensive. The waitress was friendly and it was quite clean in the restaurant, but the food is not worth coming back.

Was visiting in town for an athletic event and was excited to try this place being that I’m from California and now live in Texas. Walked in and there were at least 6-7 tables that were waiting to be cleaned. Checked in at podium and she said to give her a minute. Well we gave her 15 minutes and decided to leave. Staff seemed to be chit chatting and an overly laissez faire attitude for a Saturday night. If I was the owner I would want to know that my staff’s laziness was costing me customers.

Friendly bartenders, good drink specials, quick kitchen service and unique food for East Texas. Try the chargrilled wings! Get the green beans as a side with your seafood! Best in town!

Had lunch and dinner here a few times while working a contract in Tyler last year. Great service, cool building interior- the owner said used to be an old shoe factory or something? The food is fantastic and the drinks are, too. Honestly would (and planto) make the two hour trip just to come back and eat here before too long.

This place is SO good! I don?t understand how it isn?t super crowded and having to take reservations! Super nice people working, laid back atmosphere! My husband said it is the best butterfly shrimp he has had in east Texas, and my salmon wascooked perfectly! We will definitely make this a regular spot when we go out to eat!
