What User doesn't like about Hydro Cafe:
On a cold, wet day, my partner (who is vegan) and I visited this restaurant after doing some research on their vegan options. She ordered the Vegan Date Loaf. However, the dish arrived with a portion of butter on the plate—not an unopened container, but a piece cut from a block, placed right next to the loaf. Nice retro style cafe great for a stop on your journey. Excellent coffee and nice service. You can sit inside and also wonder into the small Bookstore next to the cafe or outside and enjoy their breakfast, pies or sweet cakes And cool: the muffins get heated and served with a piece of butter for full indulgence
The best coffee we‘ve had in New Zealand. Muffin and Browny were good as well. Great place to get food before hitting the road.

Great coffee and the big breakfast was awesome. Highly recommend coming here. The staff were friendly the fire was going and the music and atmosphere happy and welcoming... thanks
This is a great place to eat! The food was really good and the drinks were our favourite in NZ so far. The coffee was great and the mango smoothie was delicious. Highly recommend
