Review in progress... The location is conveniently situated where all the roads converge. The place is clean, equipped with squeegees and blue windshield cleaning fluid. The staff inside are friendly and even offered to brew a pot of coffee for me—such a thoughtful gesture. There's a convenience store inside, and large historic trees stand majestically behind the station. They accept cash inside and cards at the pump. I was delighted to see lovely roses blooming during my last visit. Everything takes time, and I look forward to more interactions and visits. I'm grateful for the experiences I've had so far and the excellent service. It's located off Grass Valley Road and along the picturesque Highway 189, which is beautifully tree-lined.
The staff inside the store are very friendly. The gas prices are average; they're not terrible for being on the mountain, but they are about 50 to 60 cents higher per gallon compared to prices lower down.
This gas station offers some of the best prices on the mountain, although it's clear that fuel tends to be more expensive in this area overall.
The prices here are consistently $0.50 to $0.80 higher than other gas stations. For example, this morning the price at this Shell station was $3.59, while it was only $2.89 at my workplace down the mountain. Additionally, they put large holds on your credit or debit card when you fill up. I added $15 worth of gas to my tank this morning to get down the mountain, but by the afternoon, I saw that an $85 hold is still pending in my account.
