We booked out the private room for... read more I must stress that we don’t recommend this pub due to their disappointing hospitality and the poor effort made by the staff. We booked out the private room for a birthday. The help with setting up the venue was minimal. The guests were not being served their drinks to the point where a relative had to resort to asking the waiters to serve the guests their drinks. The food was probably the only adequate part of birthday dinner. Our waiter, was rude and ‘officious’, as one of the guests pointed out, and throughout the dinner was hastily waiting on us seemingly in hope that we would leave early so that they could close early. Overall, we experienced terrible service and, in the case of hiring the private room, we expected at least a consistent and adequate service which, sadly, the Crown did not fulfill. It’s a shame as we have been very loyal to this pub for years. We won’t be returning for their service again. Price per person: £50–60 Food: 4 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

Have to say the food wasn’t up to the usual high standard, having said that we have been here before on a few occasions and its always been great so maybe just an off day, we all have them!! One thing that was absolutely perfect though was the service given by Hamish. What a star!! We will be back here for food and not least because of Hamish!!
