Very good food. Pleasantly surprised.Fantastic flavors and wonderful menu of great and unique Mexican cuisine that is not your typical Mexican restaurant. Highly recommend.
Tonight my friends got engaged at this restaurant and I can't say enough of the staff. From meeting with Alfredo the manager to work out the details the night before, he was so accommodating with where to sit them to working with the staff to make sureeveryone was on board. Today when I was there to get Ready to take pictures and videos both Alfredo and the incredible serverAshton came outside to go over details. Everything was perfect and I can't thank them enough for being so wonderful.
This charming restaurant is located in Old Town Tustin. We visited for our wedding anniversary dinner and highly recommend making a reservation through OpenTable, as they are very busy during dinner service—we waited about 10-15 minutes to be seated. We ordered several appetizers to share. The pork belly tacos, served on corn tortillas with vinaigrette-marinated pork belly, were incredibly crispy and flavorful—5/5. The bone marrow grilled corn was fantastic, with perfectly balanced charcoal-grilled corn and rich bone marrow—5/5. The steamed clams with herbal sauce, accompanied by avocado and their homemade bread, offered unforgettable flavors. The bread was like a comforting first bite after hunger, and the clams had a subtle, earthy taste that paired beautifully—5/5. The duck confit tortas were tasty, though the duck was a bit mild in flavor and slightly too salty. Still very good, but compared to the other dishes, it felt a little lacking—4/5. The beignet dessert was disappointing, tasting rather bland, and we didn’t finish it. The chocolate sauce was unremarkable, though the caramel sauce was the best I’ve ever had—2/5. This was my first experience with Yucatan cuisine, and Chaak uses many spices I’d never tried before and can’t even name. The restaurant has fantastic cultural vibes and great music. No matter how you’re dressed, you’ll feel right at home here. It’s truly a gem, perfect for date nights, girls’ nights, or any celebration.
Chaak Kitchen offers a truly authentic menu in a stylish and elegant setting. The staff are friendly and excellent at making recommendations. We tried their renowned fish dish, and it was absolutely fantastic! The drinks were also excellent, and the service was flawless. A must-visit spot when in Anaheim!
