Description

Nestled in downtown Tuscola, this restored soda-fountain eatery delivers a nostalgic experience with hearty breakfasts, messy burgers, and an array of homemade ice creams, shakes and chocolates from a charming candy counter. Friendly, attentive staff welcome families and groups, and vintage décor and an old-time cash-teller cage add to the charm. Popular with travelers and dessert lovers, it’s a must-stop for sweets — though specialty shakes can be very sweet and lunch service ends mid-afternoon.

Our family lives 45 km from Tuscola. We visited this place once in summer for the last ten years. We went to lunch last week and ordered 3 shakes, a BLT sandwich (no sides), a bowl chili, a burger (no sides), a tuna salad sandwich with frits and a side salad. One of our children ordered the Marschmallow milkshake and was basically unusable. It was literally added a cup filled with marshmallow Taffy with a little vanilla ice cream. Why do they even offer this? Our bill was $82 without tip. The receipt is not taken into account, so it is difficult to argue. We understand inflation, but we will not return to indirect food at these prices.

We were in town because a family came together. I pretended to let them know how many would come and when we arrived, a table had set up for us. The service was great, the food was great and there were no problems. They made the experience great. They also sell candy and we had a couple of family members also use it. They had a number of customers and we could still have because of the big setup they have. We're going to plan to come back to our next visit to the area.

Enjoy the lunch speciality of Lasagne, Salad and Breadstick. Excellent. Had a big piece of carrot cake. Excellent service and affordable prices.

This is in downtown Tuscola and inside has old time look and feel. The cash register area has a cage around it that looks like old time teller spot. Older showcases full of a variety of candies and treats. Breakfast menu has a variety of foods. Omelets, French toast, Biscuits and gravy, eggs, and more. Friendly wait staff. Would recommend a stop here. They also have good milk shakes. Lunch and desserts
