This lovely little pub , tucked away in the Kent countryside just outside Tonbridge, is well worth a visit. Quiz night is fortnightly Wednesday, and is gradually getting busier. Food is served, and looks quite reasonable steak Ale pie with potatoes vegetables £15.50 on the board that night but I have yet to try it . View all feedback.
This charming restaurant is located in a peaceful and serene area. The staff is incredibly welcoming and friendly, creating a warm atmosphere. Housed in a building dating back to the 1700s, the restaurant features a lovely fireplace. The cleanliness of the establishment is also noteworthy.
REALLY IMPRESSED! My stable yard had their annual Christmas Dinner here last night. There would have been around 30 of us. Usually our Christmas Dinners are a great social occasion but the food is always a disappointment over cooked, tasteless, not hot enough, forgotten courses etc with the excuse 'so hard to get it right for so many people '. Not this time! Absolutely spot on food and very good value for the price paid of £30 per head. Service was friendly and fast at the bar with the talking point all night was how good the food was!
Our first visit to the 'George' was a delightful experience that won't be our last. The cozy and welcoming atmosphere immediately made us feel like regulars, and we were reminded of the 'Cheers' theme song. The owner, Sue, made us feel like part of the family, greeting us by name and making sure we were well taken care of. The menu may be small, but the dishes are delicious and served promptly on warmed plates. We couldn't resist trying the desserts, which were absolutely divine. The owner's husband, Allan, is the talented chef behind the tasty meals. Overall, our lunch at the 'George' was fantastic, affordable, and left us already planning our next visit. Thank you, Sue and Allan, for a wonderful experience.
This is a lovely old pub and serving terrific food. Must go more often. Under new ownership it is very much cared for and the whole place feels great. Easy to walk to or to drive and park.
Popped in for a quick lunch. Very friendly welcome. Gorgeous traditional pub with lovely decor and very cosy (but not cramped). Everything on the menu looks great and there were also some specials of the day. Light lunch was absolutely delish and very fairly priced. Will definitely be returning and so pleased to find a new place to eat!
