We usually love the Spudder and so we went there to celebrate my son's birthday. The meal was great but the service was horrible. The young lady who waited on us was also tending bar. There were only two customers at the bar, but she spent the majority of her time counting money. Several times we tried to get her attention for refills. Other servers would tell her we needed our teas refilled, or part of our order was up. When our soup and bread was ready they told her, a few minutes later they brought it to her at the bar. She still didn't bring it to us and then it was cold. When our salads and meals came up the other servers just brought it to us. She never asked how our meal was. The other servers were obviously frustrated with her as they had to do the same thing with a large table behind us. At one point we brought our glasses to her at the bar. We had to ask multiple times for boxes to take our food home and then we still didn't get one until someone started to clear our plates. I wanted to get a cake for my son to celebrate his birthday but never could get her attention. What really frustrated me was that the gratuity was already added in to the total. She received $49 for doing a very poor job. I wanted to complain but could not find the owner. I was very disappointed, this is not the service we are accustomed to when dining here. Obviously her co-workers are aware of the issues. She needs to worry less about counting money and more about earning it. Of course when you are automatically tipped, you no longer have to provide quality service.

My wife and I celebrated our anniversary here. The steaks were in the top three I’ve ever eaten along with the now closed Golden Ox of Kansas City and Bohanon’s of San Antonio. I had the 22 oz. bone in ribeye and my wife had the KC Strip. They both had perfect grill marks and were a perfect medium. The grill master prepares the steaks on grills built by Hasty Bake of Tulsa. Unlike some steak houses the price includes soup, salad, potato, and steak, not ala carte. Our server, Steven, was awesome. The owner, Steve, came to our table. We had a free dessert for our anniversary. Our tab including wine was $160. We picked our steaks from the meat case. We live out of town but plan to eat here quarterly. The tomato soup is delicious. A perfect dinner.

We came back to this classic Tulsa steakhouse/restaurant a year ago, and are we glad we did. Great food service. We now try to make it there once a month. For an old guy like me, steaks can be a challenge, so I go with the chopped sirloin, and let me tell you, without a doubt, best chopped sirloin I have ever had. Great flavor!

There are only two great steakhouses in the middle of the country to get great filets . Folks Folly in Memphis and the Spudder in Tulsa. They have their difference, Folks is the only place i know to get Lynoisse Potatoes, which are off the chart good. The Spudder has the hands down best Potatoe soup anywhere. Their steaks are as good as you will ever eat. Folks wedge salad is the best anywhere and the Spudders house salad with blue cheese is out of this world. If like steaks these two places are the best. Hard to decide which one i would like to eat my last meal on earth at, lol.

Dined at Spudder 's last night. My date had never been there. I have been there numerous times over the past 25 years. Spudder 's has been open since 1974, so you know they have been doing something right. Man vs. Food even filmed a segment on the restaurant. Best known for their steaks oil field decorations, the rest of the menu it good also. She had the filet, with loaded baked potato, and got the green beans for an upcharge. I got the fried shrimp, with baked potato Ceasars salad. Both dinners came with potato soup fresh made dinner rolls served in a old fashioned lunch box. Both dinners did not disappoint, and the service by Vincent was top notch. Efficient without hovering and brought refill drinks without having to ask. My date had the bread pudding to take home. All of their desserts, like their dinner rolls, are made in house . They have a large menu that will satisfy just about everyone. It 's not a cheap place, but worth the time and money.
