Reviews summary
Lowood, located in the trendy east downtown Tulsa, promises a sophisticated experience marked by creative menus and a lively atmosphere. While many patrons rave about the chef’s tasting menu and the delightful flavors of dishes like Brussels sprouts and chimichurri steak, others express disappointment in service and execution. Issues surfaced around food wait times, overcooked meals, and inadequate wine pours during events. Although some diners elated over a unique vegan five-course menu, others lamented a lack of seasoning and hospitality. In summary, Lowood offers potential for memorable dining but may require refinement in service and consistency.

During our trip to Tulsa, friends suggested we try this restaurant in the eastern part of downtown. The menu was excellent, the dishes were flavorful, and the service was better than average. I would definitely recommend it. It’s wise to make a reservation, and if you enjoy watching the chefs at work, request a seat at the chef’s table bar. Overall, the dining experience was enjoyable and laid-back. Just note, there’... View all feedback.
What 770lesn dislikes about Lowood:
We went for the barbeque dinner with wine tasting. Price was $75 apiece. First, we were served some sweet alcoholic beverage that to us was undrinkable. The dinner was to be smoked lamb, ribs and salmon. The food was not ready when we arrived, and when finally served way overcooked. And they ran out of all the food, Ditto for dessert, they did not have enough dessert, even though reservations were required. The wine... View all feedback.

Wow wow wow. Visiting from Dallas this place was amazing. One of the best meals I’ve ever had.
Trendy area of east downtown Tulsa that feels like you are somewhere else. We sat at the Chefs bar and enjoyed watching the cooks prepare the food. We had the chefs tasting menu which was amazing food in 5 courses. The service was top notch We had a amazing expierence at Lowood!
Their new summer menu is delicious! Every item we tried was amazing, everyone on our table agreed on how tasteful everything was. We had the Mushrooms, pork belly, and the third item had cheese, bread, and prosciutto (I believe) as appetizers. For dinner we had Roasted chicken, lamb, scallops, and steak; each plate was so different from each but they were all delicious. Good service, very attentive and also I believe was the manager who came and did our wine service and he was very professional and friendly at the same time. Will definitely go back again!
The food was remarkable. We had the chefs tasting. Only room for improvement in my opinion is time. Reservation was at 7:15 and we got our dessert a little after 9pm. 2 hours for dinner. Not my style. But food is excellent
I've been here twice, and each time I've been pleased with the food on the whole. Their seasonal menus are not all as good as the next, and the value relative to price leaves a lot to be desired, but on the whole, the fare is a modest cut above other restaurants in Tulsa at a similar price point. The overall service can be disappointing though. For their tasting menu, courses and paired drinks are often out of sync, and the overall vibe from the servers easily errs of pretense. A legitimate sense of hospitality is distinctly lacking in their efforts to present as a posh establishment. Critically, a special event reservation that was arranged in detail went entirely unlogged which meant when we arrived we had to settle for whatever they had available. Extremely unprofessional and disappointing. To sum up, it's nice enough to be sure, but your money will likely yield a better experience when spent elsewhere.

I recently discovered that Lowood offers a vegetable chef's tasting menu and couldn't pass up the chance to try it. The menu is entirely vegan, with the exception of honey in one dish, which can be modified if needed. The meal consists of five courses, most of which feature locally sourced ingredients. While it is somewhat pricey (I think it was $80 per person), it was an amazing experience. It seems that some of the dishes are also available individually on the regular menu. I’ve never encountered anything like this in Tulsa before, so I’m truly thankful that it exists!

Our dining experience was definitely delightful! The dishes are very interesting. We enjoyed the Chef's Tasting Menu...highly recommend! Everything we had was tantilizing and delicious. Our favorite was definitely the Gnocchi, it was divine (see emptyplate pic, ha! . The plating was beautiful and it was fun to anticipate the next dish. The service was great also! Definitelya pleasant dining experience!
This restaurant boasts an impressive curb appeal, situated in a lovely part of town. Inside, there's a sizable bar that also serves as the boundary for the chef's kitchen area, along with two interior dining sections and a spacious outdoor dining area in the back. The staff were professional, attentive, and knowledgeable. Our waitress was delightful, and I noticed that the entire team was friendly and accommodating to other guests. The food was well-prepared and delicious, leaving us satisfied and happy. My only suggestion would be regarding the interior lighting, which could be adjusted to create a cozier atmosphere. The front area felt somewhat diner-like, which doesn't quite match the high quality this place offers. Overall, Lowood is a true gem. I look forward to returning to try more from their menu and to enjoy the patio.
I had a fantastic dining experience at this restaurant! The chef's counter provides a great view of the open kitchen, adding to the overall ambiance. The menu is both distinctive and approachable. The staff was welcoming, and we even had the chance to chat with the chef. I strongly recommend checking out this hidden gem for food enthusiasts in Tulsa!
I have nothing but positive remarks about Lowood. The open kitchen design was impressive, and the overall experience was exceptional from beginning to end. You can truly see the chefs' passion and commitment, which is beautifully reflected in the delicious flavors of the dishes. Everything is prepared with great care and attention to detail. We sampled the octopus and salmon, both of which were fresh and absolutely delicious. The service was also outstanding. I will definitely be coming back for more and highly recommend this place.
Outstanding. Outstanding. Outstanding! The service was exceptional with a head waiter who was extremely knowledgeable about wine. The restaurant offers trendy, healthy food options that were expertly prepared. This is not your typical fare. The establishment has a high-class ambiance without being pretentious. We had a fantastic time and enjoyed a lot of delicious food. The pork belly appetizer was delightful, as were the lamb chops.

The flavors were delicious. The crispy Brussel sprouts was my favorite. THE SERVICE WAS AMAZING. very pricey but worth the experience!
The wine pours were, to be generous, skimpy. My wife normally has only 1 glass of wine, the 3 pours did not equal one normal pour, When I asked for another pour, I was denied. The server said this was a wine tasting only. The staff was rude, and the entire experience dreadful. The owner promised to refund, but that never happened.
I ordered the chicken and potatoes. While cooked to the perfect level of doneness, neither had any spices or sauces to flavor them not even salt. I had the pork belly, which was okay and had sauce on it for flavor. Pretty disappointed in this $80 meal. It was also pretty slow service.
I can't say enough about how amazing the filet was at this restaurant. It was truly the best filet I've ever had. I'm practically drooling just thinking about it. And don't forget to try the focaccia and their current mushroom appetizer - both are delicious additions to your meal.
Located in a stylish part of east downtown Tulsa, this restaurant gives you the feeling of being somewhere completely different. We chose to sit at the chef's bar, where we loved watching the cooks skillfully prepare the dishes. We opted for the chef's tasting menu, which was a delightful five-course meal filled with extraordinary flavors. The service was impeccable. Overall, we had an incredible experience at Lowood!

I recently discovered that Lowood has a Veg Cook Cup menu and decided to check it out. The entire menu is vegan, with the option to substitute honey. It consists of a delightful five-course meal featuring locally sourced ingredients. Although it is on the pricier side (I think it was $80 per person), it was an amazing experience. I noticed that some of the courses might also be available individually on the regular menu. Having never encountered anything like this in Tulsa before, I’m really excited that this option is available!
