Was Catherine at Freeway Cafe a mag?
My favorite place for breakfast. Kind of a mom and pop restaurant. Very casual. Cool 50s car theme. They have ample servings and it's always fresh. I love their chicken fry and gravy as well as their blueberry pancakes and awesome omelettes! View all feedback.
What Hermann McClure dislikes about Freeway Cafe:
Hello,
Grief
What happened to the quality of the food? I had a hamburger steak burned with a little beading, which just gets on cold green beans and potato puree, which had uncooked potatoes in them. The dinner roll was cold and dough? That was Saturday for lunch, Sunday for dinner was just as bad.

The first time when I came there, the food was great, fresh delicious.

Our Turkey dressing dinner was good...plenty of condiments. We also had Rueben Sandwich with onion rings...great quanity....Today was a good experience. Thank you
The Freeway Sampler was real good. The hash browns had a crispy top. The eggs, bacon and pork sausage links were cooked just right. Spaghetti and Broasted Chicken were just as good as they always are.
Smothered Steak was delicious as usual. The Chef Salad had lots of ham and turkey, very fulfilling and great on a hot day like today. The Dinner Rolls were very good. So good that no butter was needed to eat them. The Spaghetti is also a favorite here as well.
I gave 4 stars but really wanted to do 3 1/2 stars. The Smothered Steak was tough. The green beans had no flavor what so ever. The rolls looked soft and moist on the outside but was dry on the inside. I have been craving Freeway Cafe for months and finally splurged on it and was so very disappointed in my meal. The Broasted Chicken was nice and tender. The Grilled Pork Chops were real tasty. But again the green beans were a disappointment. Each meal had green beans. The fried okra was real good as usual.

My husband and I went here for the first time last night. They have a wide variety of stuff including all day breakfast. Some dinner items were chicken fried chicken, burgers fries (or onion rings soups, salads. The pancakes
We came in at around 9am and I was delighted to find that they serve lunch and dinner options this early in the day. So I got the double meat burger with fries and some water. The burger was very fresh and tasty, the fries were crispy and were unsalted so you could put your own on if you desired it. The wait staff was also very attentive and friendly!
Outstanding! Expect to take part of your meal home as they serve generous portions. Coffee was great. Service was excellent. Ordered eggs, hash browns, chicken fried steak and biscuits/ gravy. Great prices. Definitely going back.

We visited Freeway Café this afternoon for lunch, of us all had different lunches, everything was delicious, our server could not have been more attentive, we had lovely afternoon thanks to you we will be back!!!
I stopped in for pie and coffee on the way to the airport the other day. This is fairly classic diner type place with a modern, but nostalgic feeling atmosphere around the automobile theme. The interior has bright colored red/black/white accents and arches in the room divider. Plenty of tables, booths and a lunch counter. The servers struck me as the type who know their business, know their customers and could probably run a server training school--they are the real deal. I had a great piece of apple cobbler with a dish of vanilla ice cream and I was very pleased. The other food I saw going by looked pretty good, including the biggest plate of onion rings I've ever seen.
I ordered the spinach & cheese omelet while my husband ordered the Oklahoma omelet. They were fantastic. The kids had their kiddie pancake which is huge and shaped like Mickey Mouse (for less than $2.50/each!). Fantastic food! And the model cars on all of the walls were a big hit with the kids!
Terrible this time. My husband and I are from out of town and come to the Freeway Cafe to eat with friends. On 10-25-13 the service and food were so bad that I completely lost my appetite. First, my food came out completely cold, not lukewarm, but cold. Nothing is any nastier than cold, greasy chicken and cold mashed potatoes and gravy. I didn't even get my green beans. Then I noticed that I didn't get my broccoli cheese soup before the main meal came. I had to send the entire meal back not once, not twice but three times. When my friend told our waitress that I didn't get my broccoli cheese soup it was even brought out cold, not lukewarm. We were told by the waitress after the third time of "warming" up my food is that the kitchen was changing out the steam tables and bringing out fresh food and I got the old food. This is NOT ACCEPTABLE to hear from anyone much less admit what they were doing on giving me old cold food. I lost my appetite and nothing was done by the management on compensating the meal. We were taken by a bad waitress who didn't refill our drinks no matter how hard we tried to get her attention. I hate it that this is usually such a good place, but this time it has left a very bitter taste in all of our mouths. UPDATE: This last year my family and I have tried the Freeway Cafe at least a couple of times. In August, I ate a meal and wound up with food poisoning from food that I had eaten there. I had tried to talk to management who is rude and unprofessional in his conduct when the subject was broached to him. This month of October we tried it again and our was literally half of what it was previously. My food came out barely warm and it wasn't freshly prepared. I think I was given old food again. The waitress apologized and had said that the management is a very rude man and refuses to take any criticism for the lack of quality for the food being served and refuses to listen to a customer's complaints. Now, this is bad coming from an employee when they witness what is going on and said. He has literally told customers to leave after some not so professional language and conduct. I would NOT recommend this establishment again until something drastic happens to the management.
