We stopped here for lunch while traveling along Route 66, and I have to say, my taco salad was the best I had during the entire trip! The restaurant has a quirky retro atmosphere that adds to the charm. It’s clean, and the service is friendly. If you’re in the mood for Tex-Mex in Tucumcari, this is a great spot to visit! What Gary Stewart doesn't like about La Cita Flowers:
If driving through New Mexico all day makes you hungry for Mexican food...keep driving, don't stop here. Walked in and placed a pickup order at the counter for 3 tacos and rice. Told to wait 15 minutes. Returned inside to grab the order and the cashier said they didn’t receive my order even though La Cita charged my card $17. Left with no food and a charge on my credit card that they won't refund. Had to file a rever... View all feedback.
Great place. Old school route 66 frontage. Great food super friendly staff. Had to wait a bit to get our check.
Amazing place authentic Mexican restaurant. With absolutely beautiful art work. This place is a hidden gem. Service was amazing and the Tamales for which we die. Very recommended.
My husband and I like to consider ourselves amateur food critics. Having never taken any official classes or the like, we base our opinions on service, flavor, atmosphere and the general appearance of the restaurant. So with that being said, tonight we dined at what appeared to be a hole in the wall restaurant in Tucumcari, New Mexico. La Cita is a Mexican food restaurant and from outer appearance, one might think it's the typical restaurant. Nothing could be further from the truth! The food was fantastic! Jenna, our waitress, was very nice and knew her products very well. She made some suggestions and we were not disappointed at all! Highly recommend you check this place out. Spectacular people and food!
I was a bit worried about this place from other reviews but pickings are slim in this little town. It was La Cita or fast food and being on the roax we were sick of fast food. The place is very worn inside but appeared to be clean and I care way more about that than new. Chips and salsa were good. I had green chili chicken enchilada and my husband had nachos. Both were good. We have had better but we have had much much worse. The place was prety busy, many of the people from the same hotel we were in. One server had her hands full, but boy was she doing a good job. The only reason I did not do 5 stars is because my food could have been in the oven a bit longer and I found 3 small bones in my chicken. Overall we would eat there again.
Just cannot say enough about the friendly service, and great tasting, large portions. One of the owners came out talked with me, and proudly talked about recent expansion project to restaurant. We booked for large party and more than anticipated showed up. No problem, Abby the owner, handled us like a Boss, shifted gears and accommodated our large party like just another day at the office. What an absolute professional with the greatest smile and grace this side of the Rio Grande River. The staff was stellar, efficient, friendly and attentive. Must go to when in town. I cast my vote for Michelin star rating. Bravo!
