Del's
Menu
The menu of Del's from Tucumcari contains about 96 different dishes and drinks. On average you pay about $6.3 for a dish / drink.
Del's Restaurant, situated along historic Route 66, presents a mixed culinary experience marked by notable highlights and several shortcomings. While patrons rave about the flavorful fried jalapeño strips and beer-battered green chiles, other dishes, such as roast beef and biscuits, have reportedly disappointed due to inadequate seasoning or poor preparation. The atmosphere is inviting, but service can be inconsistent, with instances of inattentive waitstaff. Many diners appreciate the generous portions and fresh salad bar, making it a worthwhile stop for those traveling through New Mexico. Overall, while Del's has its charm, guests are urged to tread carefully in menu selection.

Passing through NM, looking for somewhere to eat, saw the yelp reviews for Del's and decided to give the place a try! The food and the service were both great! We'll definitely stop here next time we are passing through! View all feedback.
What Kain R Heinlein dislikes about Del's:
It feels like this restaurant is geared towards an older, loyal clientele who prefer milder flavors and healthier options, and perhaps it should be marketed accordingly. To make matters worse, there was no veterans discount available, and the cashier was a passive-aggressive young man who appeared to have a germaphobic attitude. Unfortunately, I would recommend avoiding this place; I wish I could give it a three-star... View all feedback.
I absolutely love this place! The food is amazing and the service is excellent. It's not your typical Route 66 diner; it's even better. We make it a point to stop here every time we pass through Tucumcari, NM. This time, I ordered the liver and onions, and it was incredibly tender and flavorful. Food rating: 5/5!

To make matters worse, there was no veterans discount available, and the cashier was a passive-aggressive young man who appeared to have a germaphobic attitude. Unfortunately, I would recommend avoiding this place; I wish I could give it a three-star rating, but I just can't for a variety of reasons. It may have been a matter of bad luck with our choices.
The atmosphere is fantastic, and the staff is friendly. I had a cheeseburger with fries, and the fries were perfectly crispy. The burger was cooked to a nice medium, accompanied by fresh lettuce, tomatoes, and pickles. The bun was exceptionally fresh. Our server was excellent, and the restaurant maintained a clean environment. A wonderful place to stop by! Food rating: 5/5.
The brisket enchiladas were excellent! Probably the best I've ever had. Will definitely go out of my way to eat here again if given the opportunity.
