Starting with the food, the menu features appetizers that don't quite align with the entrees. For instance, we had clams prepared in a French style with white wine and garlic (which were delicious), but the fish mains featured distinctly Mexican flavors. While everything was tasty, the combinations of flavors didn’t feel harmonious. Overall, the dishes were flavorful but could have benefited from better presentation (see photos). When it comes to wine, Kingfisher boasts an extensive list, predominantly featuring domestic selections, with a good range of bottles and options available by the glass. The decor is sparse and somewhat mismatched, lacking a cohesive theme. Although dimly lit, which could have created a romantic atmosphere, it ultimately doesn't feel cozy. On the positive side, the staff were friendly and efficient. They were knowledgeable about the menu and promptly informed us about a couple of unavailable items since we dined late on a Friday evening. In summary, Kingfisher is worth trying out, but I don't anticipate it becoming a regular dining choice for me.
Great food, great service! From the time we stepped into Kingfisher with my family until we left the host, seater, server, and even other servers walking around were enjoyable. We went around 5pm and it was still quite busy. We will be returning again soon. We had the civichè with fresh chips, some bread with housemade pesto, and cioppino as our main dish. My son had the cheese burger with homemade shoestring potatoes... all were excellent.
