Awesome restaurant in the heart of downtown. The innovative and traditional menu items were equally delicious. Loved the Brussels sprouts and buffalo cauliflower appetizers. Our waiter Brandon was perfectly attentive and efficient. We will definitely return on our next trip to Tucson. View all feedback.
What OpenTable Diner doesn't like about 47 Scott:
Service and ambiance great. Mussels were outstanding. Sea bass very disappointing. Initially dry and overcooked. Waiter so nicely replaced it with another cooked sea bass but even though not over cooked, poor tasting- just bad sea bass . The sea food combo in a tomato sauce also unsatisfactory. Sauce not very appealing and would not recommend the dish. Would have been totally happy if stopped with the mussels without... View all feedback.
Now, while I'm going to nitpick a bit, let me emphasize that this restaurant is head and shoulders above many others in Tucson. The atmosphere is cozy, with jazz music playing at just the right volume. The staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating. However, the drinks truly stole the show—much better crafted than the meals themselves. The presentation of the dishes is fantastic, earning an A+ for plating skills, with great attention to space, color, and arrangement. The chefs score between A and B+ for flavor development. Just a word of caution: some strong flavors tend to overshadow the main ingredients. The pistachio-crusted salmon was unfortunately overcooked, nearly dry, and the pistachio coating lost its crunch and nutty flavor due to moisture. That said, the salmon itself had a good flavor, and the vegetable puree was enjoyable—lightly sweet and served as a nice offset to the salmon, adding moisture to the dish. The duck meatloaf had a wonderfully crumbly texture that almost melted in your mouth. However, it felt more like a duck fat loaf rather than a traditional meatloaf. If there was actual duck meat in there, it was chopped so finely that it was barely noticeable. The dish seems to derive its name from the use of duck fat, which is always a plus, but I would have appreciated a little more protein in the mix. Perhaps the term "meat" in meatloaf should be in quotation marks. Additionally, the herb seasonings overwhelmed the exquisite flavor of the duck. The seasoning could use some adjustments to allow the duck to shine through. It’s served on a bed of creamy spinach, which was a lovely complement and delicious on its own. However, the wine reduction drizzled on the plate was more of a distraction, as it didn’t pair well with the dish. It came off more like a heavily vinegared balsamic reduction than a wine reduction. This aspect definitely needs to be reconsidered.
Scott Co. offers expertly crafted cocktails. Both 47 Scott and Scott Co. were among the pioneers in downtown dining, paving the way before the recent wave of development and revitalization. It's wonderful to see them thriving. The restaurant's menu has evolved a bit over the years, but the quality remains excellent. This venue is also a lovely choice for small events. The staff is exceptionally friendly and accommodating.
Absolutely fantastic! It was a delightful dining experience. The waitress was outstanding and gracefully handled a rather persistent older gentleman who was making unwelcome advances. Bless her for her patience!
Great presentation and even better taste. you have to try this place!
My wife and I come here when we can escape the children! they have mimosas on Sunday and their house made marmelade is a great starter. I always get the hatch with a fried egg, so good! my wife has the eye opener, speck is phenomenal!
