Dropped in here on the way out to the riverland and again on the way home. Both times were peak in the morning and although the service line can be a little long; the food is worth waiting for. I thought the service was very good (re: another earlier review) and have no problems. I can highly recommend the Ned Kelly pie over the bacon and egg pie; and a definite pass on the hotdog with the lot; too much onion. Prices... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Sunrise Bakery:
There's nothing wrong with the food here, it's a decent bakery, it's clean enough and there's parking room. The service however is not up to scratch at all. Staff are rude, unfriendly, have trouble smiling and seem to act as though customers are an inconvenience to them. This is not a one off, I have stopped here often and 9/10 times this has been my experience. Today was exceptionally bad and once again I was given... View all feedback.

Coffee is a must here; good tasting and not too hot.

Staff are rude, unfriendly, have trouble smiling and seem to act as though customers are an inconvenience to them. This is not a one off, I have stopped here often and 9/10 times this has been my experience. Today was exceptionally bad and once again I was given a raspberry muffin instead of a blueberry muffin - and I couldn't be bothered asking for it to be changed when I realised as the staff are always rude about it when they are the ones that don't know the difference between the two. I'm going to give this joint a miss. The Angaston establishment of the same bakery has much better customer service.
I don't make that claim lightly. They are amazing! The small pies, pasties and sausage rolls are brilliant with kids too!
Having mentioned previously not being able to purchase a sandwich, the response was things have since changed and "sandwiches and rolls are now available all day til closing". Apparently NOT. I tried Sunday 16/10/16 at 3pm only to be told the sandwich bar is closed...although the bakery closed at 4pm
So we visit this little bakery quite often on road trips and never ever have I ever before ben charged 10% due to it being a Sunday or Public Holiday. How can they justify the cost of their pies when making pastry in bulk equates to 10 cents per pie shell? And then blaming their 10% surcharge on Payroll tax, work cover and superannuation?????? Your work cover rate is less than 2%, payroll tax only applies because your liability and profits grew... yes profits! and super only applied when staff exceed a threshold, that's why businesses employ young part time casual staff to void additional costs...... Then you have the nerve to serve me a stone cold pie! So that yuck sick feeling I had last night wondering if I was poisoned either by the stone cold pie or the taste of terrible business passing on the costs because you chose to run a business. If you can't make enough profit to sustain being open on a sunday or public holiday then don't bother. With the amount of people travelling in cars, trucks and caravans on Anzac Day you would have been making PURE PROFIT from your 10 surcharge that you claim covers your loses.... ?? I use the rave about your products but they are now tainted with your quick rip off make a buck scheme.
