Smiths' Boathouse
Description
**Dining at the Smith Boathouse: A Mixed Bag Experience**
The Smith Boathouse offers a unique dining experience in a charming setting reminiscent of a farmhouse. While the restaurant serves expertly crafted clam chowder and perfectly cooked steaks, diners have experienced mixed service and portion sizes. Guests have praised the flavorful Walleye and delightful desserts, yet some found the prices for certain dishes and add-ons questionable. Celebrations, like anniversaries and holiday parties, can be affected by seating arrangements and noise levels. However, the warm atmosphere and attentive staff often leave patrons eager to return. Overall, the Smith Boathouse has the potential to become a favorite with a little refinement.

We had an enjoyable meal, everything tasted great, the service was great. I was disappointed in the size of my meal, two of the people with us I ordered fish and chips. My meal the Admiral platter which is fish and chips plus white shrimp and sea scallops. Changing from fish and chips to the Admiral platter added $20 to the meal, again the food was great but I do not think the additional items are worth adding $20 to the bill. Plus $12 more for a salad! I will return in the future but I will not order the same meal, as you can see from my picture there appears to be more fries (chips) then fish.
We have such a wonderful time here every year! We come to celebrate a birthday and have never been disappointed. Our server, Abby, was fantastic—she made us laugh with her jokes and was very attentive to our needs. The experience is always enjoyable! Thank you once again for creating such a great atmosphere!
We had a wonderful evening at the Smith Boathouse. I ordered the beef tips, while my husband enjoyed the walleye. His walleye was incredibly flavorful—absolutely delicious and highly recommended! The service was exceptional as well. We ended our meal with a delightful dessert, which is pictured with this review.
My wife and I joined three other couples for their New Year’s Eve Gatsby celebration, and we had an absolutely fantastic time. Every meal, from appetizers to desserts, was delicious. The specialty themed drinks were a big hit at our table as well. Our waitress, Lindsey, was wonderful and very attentive. I also appreciated that they offered 3 Floyds beer, one of my favorites that's not usually available in this area. Thank you all for a wonderful evening!
Went with a group for a friend's birthday dinner. We were seated on the outside patio which had a very good view of the river. The servers were very friendly and informative on drinks, apps, and meal choices. Prices can be high depending on what you order. We had alcoholic drinks as well with our meals, so the price can vary depending on what you order. The food was very good and the drinks were amazing. Just be sure to bring at least $100 if you decide to check them out.
