Valley View Restaurant - Trout River

The restaurant is in the same non-descript white building as a convenience store at the intersection of 431

We ate at Valley View twice during out visit to Trout River. The food was good and reasonably priced.The restaurant is not busy but it is attached to a general store so I believe it is overlooked by many looking for a meal. The restaurant is very basic and menu is minimal. Everything was clean and the food well prepared.

Food was okay but the menu is very misleading. I thought I was ordering fried cod, dinner roll, vegetables and choice of fries or mash potatoes ($15)...I thought this because that's what was on the menu. When only the fried cod and mashed potatoes arrived I asked about the roll and vegetables. I was told that the roll and vegetables was not part of the meal. After, I double checked the menu and it clearly stated exactly what I thought so I asked what happened to the vegetables. The response was that the menu was misprint and that others had complained as well. I would not eat here because of this deceit. There are limited options in Trout River, but I would take my business elsewhere.

Not a lot of people make it to Trout River while at Gros Morne but we did. Based on the reviews here we decided to try out the Valleyview. We were not disappointed. Tasty food and generous portions at reasonable prices. Can't ask for more than that!

We had dinner at this local diner while spending a night in Trout River. Location was awesome, service was quick and friendly. Everyone was happy with their meals and left nothing behind! Prices were very reasonable as well. Decor is simple but overall clean.
