What SariS629 doesn't like about Il Papero D'oro:
We only take 2 aperol spritz drinks. On the table there was menu were its 5 e each. Nyt IT was obviously old menu ,nowadays its 8 e each and 1 e more for tableservice! And very rude waitress. In cases there is old list on table, I think its not customers fail. So it was 17 e all. Neighbour restaurant was day before 5 e each and no tableservice payment. View all feedback.
Friendly staff, food in the media. Local in the centre
All really good, from pisa to trancio with onions of tropea to orange to anduja I will return to get the many other specialties them.
We happened in this place by chance and was a fantastic surprise from the quality price with the product to the kindness of the staff. huge and delicious sandwiches, delicious oranges but the strong piece and this craft beer fermented with the onion exsicata. delicious. delicious also clear the girl who works there very kind and really you see that she has passion in her own work. I recommend it for an excellent exhaustive and quiet stage!
Two cans of coke, one mortadella and mozzarella sandwich and an order of three meatballs with a stale ciabatta roll. $28. Meatballs were nuked and half boiling and half cold. Like most of the places to eat in Tropea, we felt we were getting ripped off for subpar to mediocre food. Tropea is a must visit for its panoramic views, sweet onions, and small town walkability. But it is a tourist town and if you're expecting to find delicious Italian food expect to be disappointed. We even stopped in to a sidewalk local store run by an old Italian guy. He begged us to check out his little shop of pastas, olives, onions, and Italian sausages. He insisted we try each as he spooned us olives and cuts of soppresat. We gave in and bought a bag of pasta and an air sealed bag of those olives. $16 which I thought was pretty steep. Next day on a parallel street we found a store selling the same bag of pasta for 3 bags for 5 euros and the same $8 bag of olives for $3 euros. The kind old man flat out ripped us off and probably had a good chuckle at us stupid tourists. Just remember the store owners are all friendly and inviting but don't expect any bang for your buck with the food in Tropea. Dont buy anything until you walk around and compare. Breakfast or gelato anywhere is good but finding good food its the same food lunch or dinner) will be a challenge. The place above summed up our 4 days in Tropea as far as eats. Lousy food for ripoff prices.
Right at the centre of Tropea. Small cafe selling pizza and other food and drinks. Friendly staff, family run business. Would recommend for an inexpensive quick meal
