What Amy S doesn't like about Normandin Trois-rivières:
Prices are high for small quantities; breakfast comes with 3 very skinny strips of bacon. Service was minimal; our waitress never asked how everything was and never refilled our coffees. View all feedback.
We wanted to try this restaurant because it came highly recommended. Upon arriving, we were seated without anyone checking if the table was to our liking. Although we weren’t thrilled about it, we let it slide. Then, the youngest waitress, who was blonde, approached our table and started speaking to us in French. Unfortunately, we don’t speak French, so I politely asked if she spoke English. Her response was no, only French. Just as I was about to pull out Google Translate, she added, and I QUOTE, "I do speak English, but you are in a French city," and then she walked away. I was deeply offended on many levels. Yes, I understand I'm in a French city, but it was disappointing to feel that speaking French was a prerequisite to enjoying dining out. Her attitude was unkind, and I felt discriminated against, similar to experiences I've had in various places in the U.S. I hope the restaurant can provide better training for their staff on how to treat customers with respect.
My sister got food poisoning from her General Tao salad. She was very ill and spent the entire night vomiting. It was a terrible experience.
On Saturday, Pooh, Mommabelle, and I dined at this restaurant after a trip to Costco. It was the lobster festival, so Pooh and his mom ordered lobster dishes. Pooh tried a lobster club sandwich, while his mom opted for lobster pizza. Unfortunately, Pooh's club sandwich was disappointing—there was hardly any lobster to be found, and the bread was barely toasted, looking more white than anything, especially for $25! Mommabelle's pizza had a bit more lobster, but if you're promoting lobster, it should be a more prominent feature on the dish. I chose their gourmet burger but found it hard to understand what made it "gourmet" since it tasted just like a regular burger, and I ended up having to add all the condiments. The best part of all three meals was the fries. I give it three stars, as the portions were decent, but overall, I was quite disappointed.

The food was quite good, and the restaurant itself was clean. However, the restroom could use some improvement in terms of cleanliness. There is ample parking available around the restaurant. The prices were very reasonable, and the service was both friendly and prompt.
