3rd Rock - Trivandrum

Our favourite restaurant on kovalam beach. Sitting on the wall enjoying lunch and dinner as the waves crash on the beach next to you is great fun. In addition the food was very good. Large tasty portions and a very friendly helpful manager. Highly recommended.

We recently spent a fantastic month staying in the accommodation at 3rd Rock, located right above the restaurant. The Studio Apartment, managed by Sulekha, was impeccable and had everything we needed for our extended stay. We hardly cooked for ourselves because the restaurant downstairs made dining out effortless. The food was delicious as always, and the service provided by Saj and the rest of the team was top-notch. This restaurant is truly a hidden gem and one of the best in Kovalam.

During my two-week stay in Kovalam for Christmas, I stayed at the UDS, which was conveniently located just 50 meters from 3rd Rock restaurant. In my opinion, this was the best restaurant in Kovalam. The decor was simple, but the food was outstanding. Taj, the manager, was fantastic and always willing to accommodate any requests. We enjoyed a few lunches there and found it convenient to pre-order our meals, returning an hour later to find everything ready for us. The Pakoras, Kedais, and butter chicken dishes were all fantastic. Not to mention, the prices were very reasonable. I highly recommend giving this restaurant a try.

Excellent food and location by the sea. Good value and friendly service. Try to get a table on the sea wall for views over sea and fishing boats.
