I should anticipate that I participated in a set meal for 1... read more A cozy, unpretentious restaurant in a small village on the seaside, some 8 km from downtown Trieste. I should anticipate that I participated in a set meal for 17, so this may not be indicative of their best cuisine. The appetizer (smoked salmon and swordfish, shrimps, baccalà mantecato) was ok. The first dish was disappointing: while the fish sauce was steaming hot, the underlying pasta (paccheri) was cold and overcooked, and strangely enough it was made of two different kinds of pasta. The second dish was better, a remarkably good sea bass cooked in the oven accompanied by a cauliflower and bitter herbs pasticcio. We were served good local white wine. 3 bullets and a half would be the correct evaluation, if it were possible.

Staying at the Hotel Mignon that belongs to it. All stylish shic, simple and reasonably priced.
