Excellent place. Down to earth, great beers, great atmosphere. No hipsters to be seen.
Wonderful food, excellent service all round a lovely evening. We had the bread gnocchi with gulasch, breaded sardines, potatoes, plum gnocchi for dessert, all accompanied by a great house white. We highly recommend this restaurant for all who wish to sample the delicious, authentic cuisine of Trieste!
This place does something different to the wide range of pasta, pizza and seafood done so well elsewhere in Trieste; it celebrates the wide and diverse culture of food in the area. The meat and cheese sharing platter was probably the best we'd ever had, and the schnitzel and baked ham hock were superb. We opted for a salad side as there had been bread with the starter what a salad! It could have been a main in its own right. It also had a wide range of wines and beers the house red was particularly good. As it was far from full we had the opportunity to chat with the chef/owner a thoroughly engaging chap whose passion for the cuisine of the region was wonderful. Thoroughly recommended and very very good value a real find!
We had a fantastic meal here on our first night in Trieste. Service was impeccable we got a detailed explanation of all the dishes on the menu, along with recommendations. As a result, we all had dishes we might not have otherwise tried, all of which were delicious. The beersmisu was a particular favourite! It was great to see such a passion for the food of the region. It was also excellent value an all round success.
