As usual, a TripAdvisor find. It was early doors and very quiet. We chose from the day menu. Schnitzels. The food and beer were excellent. Service good and great value for money. Highly recommended! View all feedback.
What Anonym dislikes about Stratos Schlabbergass:
Ok food, but in very touristic neighbourhood. Very good grilled feta, and average mixed grill spies (lots of meat) with fries that were not so nice, and no lettuce, Made reservation more than two weeks in advance and they wanted to put us in a...small and dark sideplace on a sunny evening. After some complaining we got a terrace table. View all feedback.
Pub type location with a wide variety of food items. They offer multiple language menus and all spoke English very well. The kids ordered sausage and I had the pork schnitzel. I did not have any sauce on it since I wanted to try the authentic flavor of the pork. It was very juicy and cooked well and had lots of flavor. Lots of beer choices to select from and the servers helped to navigate our selections. Great place to have good food, a drink ,and be able to enjoy conversation with your group.
We spent 3 nights in Trier and ate dinner here 2 of those nights. Their salats (salads) are fresh and delicious!!! I highly recommend the Kartoffelgratin Schlabbergass. It's a potato casserole with ham, bacon and cheese, and worth every single carb and calorie! I've been craving it since I got back home! Service the first night was excellent, but the second night our waiter was a little grouchy and rushed us. I would definitely come back again though, if I could!
The food was delicious and the staff was so friendly and accommodating to our large group of 13! I definitely recommend this restaurant to all others!
Visiting Trier for the day. Stopped in here for lunch. A big pils, potato soup, bread, salad and gorgonzola schnitzel with french fries. The food was very good, the atmosphere was very cool, and the service was great. Our waiter was friendly, spoke broken English, but good enough to help us. English menus available. Definitely worth checking out. Glad we did. Absolutely recommend and we'll be back if in the area in the future.
Honestly this was a perfect dinner choice after a long day in Trier seeing the sights. Located off the main tourist drag, it is comfortable and relaxed. Like in Europe tourist areas the service was stretched thin, so it took a little time to get our order in. But seeing the menu was only in German (thank you google translate app) that was fine. Gave us time to figure out what we wanted. Service was by who I think was the mother of the owner. She was kind and only spoke German but we figured it out. We ordered Weinerschnitzels (2) and pasta (2). Large portions, and the schnitzels came with salad. Also the schnitzels are Pork, not lamb, in case you (like me) prefer to not eat baby sheep. I highly recommend the gorgonzola version. Not breaded and covered in cheese. It was quite wonderful. Prices were fair. You have to ask for your check.
