*One star deducted because I was asked to delete the review* Were only there for coffee and cake on a Saturday. Unfortunately the drinks weren't good. The cake, however, was delicious. However, the service was unfriendly. When the bill came we wanted to pay by card, to which the response was very unfriendly. We don't go here anymore. Unfortunately. Food drinks: The coffee variations were not good. The cake was delicious. Service: 2
We wanted to eat something and sat alone in the restaurant. Drinks are available in bottles that are slammed on the table. It is not poured and a “for the good” You don't know it here. The food was also put down in an unfriendly manner or simply handed over to the table. It couldn't be more unprofessional. The older waitress with glasses and gray hair is bad for business. Unfriendly and snappy. Apparently can't stand himself. Toilets unkempt. The meal went like this. Absolutely not recommended!!! Food drinks: Drinks are available in bottles. Food very expensive, quality only average
Although it is such a beautiful and well-established place, the behavior of the cafe staff is far from being professional. I recommend you to find a better place in Triberg where you can have a good time with your family, more respectful to tourists. Service: 1
My father and I visited this café for a coffee, and I came in with a big smile, hoping for a pleasant experience. I tried to talk to the woman behind the glass where the cakes are displayed (whom I’m assuming is the owner of the place with her husband), but my smile was instantly wiped out when she made a terrible face, furrowing her brows. When I politely asked if we could sit and then order, she started walking away and answered me while leaving, which felt incredibly rude. I decided to try their Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte, as the place claims to be famous for it, and I also had a black tea. The woman who served us afterward was really nice, and her friendly service definitely stood out. However, the unpleasant welcome from the woman behind the bar left a bad impression. As for the cake, it was edible but not great. Unfortunately, both my father and I had trouble digesting it. My father suffered from acid reflux for the entire evening after having just a few bites, and while my symptoms were less severe, I also felt uncomfortable. This has never happened to us before in Germany, so it was quite surprising. On a positive note, the café itself is very clean, and the view is wonderful. I want to give a big thanks to the lady who served us, as she made up for the unpleasant welcome and our disappointment with the Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte.
