Was Greg Thompson at The Fish Van a mag?
it is worth breaking up the trip from coles bay to hobart to eat here at lunchtime. the blue travala is worth paying a bit more and it was so fresh and I noticed that after eating the fish and chips I did not have the heavy oily feeling. a beautiful experience thanks to crew. View all feedback.
What Ize Smeets dislikes about The Fish Van:
Went here for fish and chips because it had great reviews. Asked what they recommended as the nicest fish and was advised the flake was the most popular. Had flake and chips. Flake was over-cooked and very greasy. Chips were average. Disappointed given the good...reviews they had received. View all feedback.
We shared calamari and chips that were fantastic, and scallops and chips that were also good. chips were hot but could have been cooked for longer.
After a wonderful day trip on maria island, we are back in triabunna and my wife recommended fish and chips from this van? when we heard from locals, it was good to eat. now, it has not the fish grilled flathead for me as I... on a GF diet because of Coeliac disease and crumbed for my wife plus chips for both to avoid gf again for me and in a separate fryer, contamination problems saved in a waffle cone were 10/10. good value as it was much of fish for both and it did not cost a poor and a bit. the chips were well cooked, hot and non-oily with a sprinken of salt and the fish of the boats perfectly boiled and fresh as. one of the best take aways we had on our trip.
Best fishing and chips surrounded with perfect. we had the flat head and chips that were fresh from the boat. delicious! highly recommended.
Great little van, friendly locals working the van, and on Sundays you're allowed to eat your food at the pub because they don't do meals Sunday nights.
