Was Greg Thompson at The Fish Van a mag?
it is worth breaking up the trip from coles bay to hobart to eat here at lunchtime. the blue travala is worth paying a bit more and it was so fresh and I noticed that after eating the fish and chips I did not have the heavy oily feeling. a beautiful experience thanks to crew. View all feedback.
What Ize Smeets dislikes about The Fish Van:
Went here for fish and chips because it had great reviews. Asked what they recommended as the nicest fish and was advised the flake was the most popular. Had flake and chips. Flake was over-cooked and very greasy. Chips were average. Disappointed given the good...reviews they had received. View all feedback.
Was looking for a quick feed while staying in Orford and decided to head to the fish van for a quick feed for two. Located opposite the harbour it is easy to find with plenty of parking.Decided on the Seafood Basket (I think it was called that) and the food was great value at $18 and was more than enough food for two. The food was fresh and really tasty and more than enough for two.Comes highly recommended
Stopped by, had fish and Chips , some of the freshest tastiest fish I have eaten in a long while. Definatley visit this.
The flake was extremely greasy and the chips super dry. The five of us did not finish our food. To top it off, when the food was being packaged, they used bare hands, no gloves or utensils! Also saw the cook use her phone and then touch the food again without washing hands. Will not return.
Great little van, friendly locals working the van, and on Sundays you're allowed to eat your food at the pub because they don't do meals Sunday nights.
Excellent food and service! I would 100% recommend anyone driving up the coast to stop in and enjoy. Well done on a fantastic business. You're a credit to our beautiful state
