(4) C... read more Pros (1) Food was rustic and tasty. Breaded veal chop was thick and delicious. (2) Tomato pasta for child was sweet and delicious. (3) Portions are large. (4) Cheap (5) Good cheap white wine that was recommended (6) Fantastic view from nearby garden as it is on top of a hill. Can see sunset on other side of lake including on Bellagio. Cons (1) Have to get there by car as it is high up. Would be difficult to walk up there and back down

There may be food equals in Tremezzo, but this is outstanding value. Very fresh, homemade, delicious food. And served in large quantities! The view is to die fo... read more There may be food equals in Tremezzo, but this is outstanding value. Very fresh, homemade, delicious food. And served in large quantities! The view is to die for, it is well worth the car journey up (4-5mins) and there is plenty of parking. Service is first class (I believe the owners chip in) and really I cannot fault anything about this. Lasagna and mushroom taglitelle were both loved by our family, and house red was really very good.

We are always bit wary of four course canned menus... read more We spent two weeks in the Lake District of Italy and southern Switzerland and this was one of our best meals. We are always bit wary of four course canned menus, but this was the exception. It started with a gigantic buffet of antipasto treats. Followed by a penne pasta in a delicious sauce. The main course was a delicious slow roasted veal loin, and dessert was some of the best Tiramisu we have ever has, loaded with fresh berries. As I recall, the whole meal was 35 Euros per person, which is a bargain for this area. The husband/wife team that owns the hotel did the serving a new warm plate for courses 2 and 3, and then individually served from serving platters right of out of the kitchen. There is more than enough food very generous portions. I'd eat here again even if we were not staying in the hotel!

T... read more Visited the restaurant with family of 6 adults. The food was very good as was the service. The antipasto buffet selection was excellent to start off the meal. The mushroom fettuccine was a real hit as was the butter and sage ravioli. The view from the restaurant which sits high on the hill above Tremezzo provides a wonderful outlook to enjoy the evening. If you decide to walk, be warned it is high on the hill so a major hike uphill. Driving or a taxi might be a better idea. That said we walked it and took taxi back as was after dark.
