And we were so hungry. The guys at Wapping came through, even though it was close to closing time, the fish and chips were fresh! We're Canadian so we like tartar sauce, they didn't miss a beat and offered us some packets. I loved the haddock and my partner loved the cod. Giant portion and we were travelling, had to save it for the next day (cant waste! . We just refried it on the pan and got it crispy again. Still held up. Make sure you pop by! They're great!! Ps: battered sausage was also very yummy and we ate that while waiting. They were considerate about how hungry we were and gave us a few chips to munch on too haha

Only choice of haddock and cod on menu no other fish available. Regrettably, the cod turned out to be the worst I've ever had from a fish and chip shop. The batter had absolutely no flavour, no seasoning, no crunch and just came off the fish. The fish itself wasn't fresh unfortunately. Tasted very very dry. Disappointing, as I was rather positive hopes.

The owner is a... read more I used to give this fish and chip shop top ratings for the most delicious fish and chips and have been a loyal customer for the past two decades. The owner is a very friendly guy who runs the place. However, I have recently stopped going there because the last few times I visited, the food was overly greasy, the batter was undercooked and thick, and the chips were not as good as they used to be. It seems like they are using a different type of oil now. It is a shame because the shop is only a 7-minute walk from my house. I have since found a new local spot to satisfy my fish and chip cravings.

I was blown away. this place is easy 4.2 out of 5 if compared to golden chippy. the amount was more than generous. don't think you can try it yourself.

When visiting london from oregon in the distant Pacific Northwest of the usa we discovered this little gem on the wapping lane. we had gone a few days earlier t... read more When visiting london from oregon in the distant Pacific Northwest of the usa we discovered this little gem on the wapping lane. we had gone a few days earlier to poppie’s in the brick Lane area. the ones they find here are much better not only the fish (a delicious piece of squid, fried to perfection) but also the chips. it is a small business, so if the weather allows, I suggest their order in the small park directly on the road to dine al fresco. and oh yes, the owner of the fishing business who refused to make his photo was charming. highly recommended.
