Visited ombra with a few flat matte and I must say they have a great friendly / family atmosphere, with some classic Italian dressed that I enjoyed very much. what I enjoyed more was that I got more food on my teller than I expected what is always a plus. total amazing experience.

I had a great pasta dish there followed by a perfect tirimasu. excellent Italian cuisine in a relaxed environment to praise that the bank does not break. washed well with a Campari scarf.

The cocktails were very beautiful and the lobster pasta delicious.

Amazing flavours!probably the best pasta dishes I've ever tasted. Had a really great night.

Finally a place where you can feel like home. Well done guys.

Ombra presents a mixed bag of experiences for diners, combining a charming atmosphere and promising Italian cuisine with notable service inconsistencies. While some patrons rave about the delightful food and attentive staff, others express disappointment over poor-quality dishes and unprofessional service. Highlights include fresh pasta and tasty tiramisu, but complaints about overpriced meals, insufficient seasoning, and disorganized service mar the overall reputation. Despite some positive interactions with staff, including commendable service from individual waiters, the restaurant struggles to earn a consistent recommendation. For now, diners may want to tread carefully when considering Ombra for their next culinary adventure.

My partner and I were recommended this restaurant during our drip to London. The restaurant itself was cool and classy, staff were attentive and friendly enough. The food was fresh and delicious. We chose the tasting menu for £65 a person. The starters consisted of a mix of breads, focaccia, a bread stick and a fried bread all which were good but nothing to write home about. The sweet potato and cured meat was divine. Next came a dish of charred greens, croutons and blood orange, which was over charred and bitter tasting, not to our taste. After this, we had a smoked crab pasta. The fresh pasta was about as al dente as you could want. Our favourite came next, mutton with kale and anchovy sauce. Cooked to perfection, the sauce was incredible. Bellisimo. Only issue was not enough. Dolce next, panna cotta with nuts and cumquat, followed by tiramisu with sweet wine. the panna cotta was light and delectable. Tiramisu is not our favourite, but was light and fluffy. Overall a great experience.

The food was nice enough but my main issue which I have NEVER experienced at a restaurant before was that throughout the 4 hours we were there, there were large rats running back and forth across the restaurants decking right outside the main door. I was trying to enjoy my food and out of the corner of my eye would see them dash around. They clearly lived under the decking! It really put me off my food and we could see all the other tables turning around in shock as well. They either need to invest in ceiling to floor curtains or a good exterminator...

The restaurant moved my table from 8pm to 6.30pm without my consent. Their “excuse” was that their booking system was not functioning correctly. Poor treatment of a customer.

We come for a family lunch and unfortunately we had a terrible experience. Unprofessional and unfriendly service, without any care for the customer. Terrible food! Very poor quality of the ingredients, no flavor, greasy and salty ! No idea about what Italian food should be. Absolutely unacceptable.

A very enticing menu but don't be fooled by the photos, at £18 a primi half the size of a tapas, £4 or £5 for 3 slices of stale bread called focaccia, this is a very expensive restaurant you will leave hungry. Fresh, and tasty ingredients, but no seasoning of sorts, plain boiled octopus and tomato, not even a drop of olive oil, corners cut everywhere possible to the detriment of the finished dishes. Service average, not bringing all starters together, they take different times to prepare, hmmm, get a chef who knows his schedule. Not again!

I am giving this restaurant a one-star rating after receiving a passive-aggressive and intimidating email from them. We had a reservation at 6:45 pm and there were only a few other tables occupied in the restaurant. It took over 45 minutes for our two pasta dishes to arrive after our entree salads, and when they did, only one dish came at first, with the other following 15 minutes later. We ended up eating our mains separately. The price of £22/24 pounds for the pasta was not justified as it was underwhelming. The staff was apologetic, but couldn't provide a clear explanation for the delay. They did offer us two wines while we waited and removed the cost of the cocktails and pasta from our bill. However, overall the service felt disorganized, and we left feeling disappointed with our experience.

The food at the restaurant was delicious, especially since we went on opening day. The shisha, made by Faez, was also top-notch!

I celebrated my hen party here. And was so impressed with the food and service that I returned shortly after for dinner with my husband. You can literally pick anything off the menu and it will be delish. Always get the focaccia.

The food was good, a bit small and pricey, but overall had a great experience.

This is truly the best food I have had in London in a very long time. The menu is constantly changing, so even the online version is likely outdated now. The mutton tartare, hen of the woods, and crab bucatini were absolutely amazing. I will definitely be coming back!

We live locally and are supporters of 'young ' local restaurants. We read the reviews and decided to spend date night at Ombra. Such a disappointment. We knew it was a limited menu not a problem as our booking was at 8pm (hardly late) and x 2 One each of the 4 starters and main courses were already finished. When requesting the 2nd beer, that too had run out. Who runs out of Peroni!! They could have nipped to the local Sainsburys to stock up surely?! My partner chose not to have a starter (his choice unavailable), and decided to wait for the main course the seafood pasta which arrived hosting 3 tired looking prawns, 1 clam and a mussel. Throughout the evening the staff were constantly asking if all was ok to the point it was embarrassing when clearly our experience of the restaurant we felt was somewhat compromised. When we spoke to the waiter about the food his response was 'well theres plenty of pasta? Thats as maybe but #13 for a bowl of pasta not our idea of a great dining experience. We then followed up with another waiter after he too asked if 'everything was ok? ' He too looked confused at our comments. Clearly the question asked but with no idea how to handle if the response anything but positive. It all could have been avoided by staff who knew how to talk to guests. We decided to call it a sorry night and the bill was asked for. Some confusion ensued whilst we watched the staff debate a goodwill payment #6 was finally take off our #40 something bill. To add insult to injury, the owner was standing at the bar, asked if something was wrong and then ignored the conversation. Just happy to take the cash perhaps?! I cannot tell you the last time I felt compelled to write a review such as this. Avoid this one at all costs. There are stax of amazing places instead of this one try Morito just up the road for eg. more exe but amazing food, great staff and fantastic wine.

This is how food should be: seasonal, full of flavor, and genuine.

The food was good, although the selection was somewhat limited. They also have a nice wine list.

To make matters worse, we were charged £25 just for placing our cake on a plate! The waitress brought the cake out when it suited her, completely undermining the celebration, which was for a birthday. It felt like just any other item on the table, not a special moment. If you're going to impose such a charge—something I've never encountered before—you should at least handle it professionally. We had to ask three times for the table to be cleaned. While they mentioned a cleaning charge, no one revealed the actual amount. I can only guess that it’s because reasonable people would never agree to pay £25 for that service. We also brought a bag with a birthday cake and an expensive box of chocolates. I was surprised to see the chocolates on the table as well, as this was meant to be a gift and should not have been served. If there was any confusion, it would have been best to ask. When I requested to have the chocolate bag returned, one member of the kitchen staff was rather rude in response. Given that our bill was nearly £400, I expected at least a complimentary drink or shot as a courtesy. Don't bother trying to reach them through email, as it seems they don’t utilize that either.

Ombra never disappoints! It's been a while since I've been to this restaurant, and after years, lunch was truly excellent. Delicious food, exquisite flavors, and generous portions. The young man who served us was kind and attentive. Highly recommended! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Would definitely recommend Ombra. Very nice dinner on the terrace close to the canal. Food was great, mostly Italian inspired. Simple, excellent and fresh food. Great cocktails (again with that Italian twist) and nice selection of wine. Special mention to the staff who manage to balance a friendly and professional service.
